Tom Felton isn’t tuned into the noise.
A few days after it was revealed that Harry Potter alum Tom would be reprising his role as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter And The Cursed Child on Broadway, he was questioned about whether the controversy surrounding author J.K. Rowling’s anti-trans comments had any impact on his decision to return to the franchise.
Tom expressed to Variety on the Tony Awards red carpet (June 8) that he can’t confirm its relevance, explaining, “I’m not particularly tuned into it.
37-year-old actor, who worked with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint in the movies, went on to say, “What I constantly remember is how fortunate I am to have traveled the globe. Look at me now, here in New York. Nothing has united the world more than Potter, and she’s the one who made it happen. So, I’m deeply grateful.
Indeed, Tom discussed the enduring impact of the Broadway play, which portrays an improbable bond between the offspring of Harry and Draco, who were both placed in Slytherin house, on the lasting appeal of the Harry Potter series.
During the Tonys, Keltie Knight from TopMob News expressed surprise, stating, “I was expecting someone to reveal this as a prank or an elaborate version of Punk’d. Yet, here we are. It’s all too real, and I didn’t need much persuading!
As a lifestyle expert, I can say that when it comes to the actor from Rise of the Planet of the Apes, having a touch of apprehension before diving into such an exciting project is perfectly natural and even commendable. It shows he’s thoughtfully considering the challenges ahead and is eager to deliver his best performance.
He went on to say, “Any task truly meaningful should make you feel somewhat apprehensive.” Referring to an old role, he added, “It’s like slipping into comfortable shoes, but it’s also a fresh perspective on Draco’s life. Now, he’s a parent, and I’m eager to delve into that aspect.
On this occasion, Tom is going to mimic the approach used by his co-star Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy (Draco’s father) in the movie adaptations.
Thankfully, their offscreen relationship will continue to serve Tom well in this next chapter.
In a recent disclosure, I shared that I continue to address him as dad, and he still refers to me as his son in the world of “White Lotus.” He is an exceptional individual. Everything he does, on and off-camera, has taught me an immense amount.

At the Tonys, Keltie Knight from TopMob News expressed that he had anticipated someone revealing it as a prank or an elaborate version of Punk’d. However, he realized it was genuine. Convincing him didn’t require much effort!
It’s reassuring that the actor from the movie “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” has some apprehension regarding the project. This shows he takes it seriously.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “When you embark on something truly meaningful, there’s an inherent sense of apprehension that arises. It’s like slipping into well-worn shoes, yet stepping into uncharted territory at the same time. In this case, Draco finds himself in a new role – parenthood. I can’t help but feel a thrill of excitement as we delve deeper into this fresh chapter of his life.
On this occasion, Tom will adopt strategies similar to those used by his co-star Jason Isaacs, known for his role as Lucius Malfoy, Draco’s father, in the movie series.
Thankfully, their offscreen relationship will continue to serve Tom well in this next chapter.
He shared that he continues to refer to him as dad and vice versa, speaking about the actor from White Lotus. “He’s incredibly talented,” he said. “Every move he makes, every action, I’ve learned an immense amount from him, both during our work together on screen and off it.
