Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Remakes: Countdown to Exciting Announcement Begins!

Fans of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, it’s about time! In nine days, on March 4th, the follow-up to Vicarious Visions’ critically acclaimed remake, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, will be unveiled. The official game franchise website now features a countdown clock, giving us the exact moment of this announcement. But that’s not all! The new home page also hints at something more. A rather blurry background image suggests it could be one of the levels from the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game, possibly indicating whether it’s a brand-new entry or the remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 that everyone’s eagerly awaiting. Some fans seem to have already identified the location in that image.

Last September, Tony Hawk himself hinted at the continuation of his video game series. Whether this meant a fresh installment or another remake wasn’t immediately clear, but it was thrilling news for fans of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Recently, some tantalizing hints suggest that the project may be leaning towards remastering or remaking. With this latest development, it appears that the upcoming release will undoubtedly be Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4, combined.

On the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater subreddit, a post showcases a clearer version of the teaser image. Fans who are acquainted with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 might have identified it swiftly. Although it’s not perfectly clear, it bears a striking resemblance to the third installment’s Skater Island level, which is modeled after an actual skate park that had to close due to a collapsed roof. Reddit user a_hawk_1323 was the one who first made this comparison. They managed to find or recreate a shot from the original game’s Skater Island with a similar framing, and it is remarkably almost identical.

Despite the image being slightly blurred, distinct features emerge that identify it as Skater Island. For instance, the box on the left with its flat rail and the lower box featuring a euro gap and down rail are clear indicators. The layout appears to be different from the usual, possibly due to some changes in design. The park seems to be in less than ideal condition given the damaged roof, which some Reddit users believe is a nod to the real Skater Island’s collapsed roof. Additionally, there appear to be numerous puddles scattered around the park, unlike the original version.

From the latest teaser picture and timer, it appears that Iron Galaxy Studios could be working on the upcoming remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. This assumption is based on the fact that “Project Chicago” is rumored to be the project name, given that Iron Galaxy’s headquarters are located in Chicago. The studio is recognized for its expertise in remastering and porting games, such as the PC version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2.
