Enthusiasts of the iconic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series have found themselves in a bit of a dilemma regarding the upcoming remake of games 3 and 4, as there are structural modifications to the more open-ended fourth installment. However, it appears that almost all of its content will be incorporated into the final product.
In summary, THPS 3 and 4 are combined into a single bundle, similar to how THPS 1 and 2 were previously grouped together.
This time around, the free-flowing design from THPS4 is being adapted to incorporate the two-minute timed format that was present in previous games.
Fans have expressed apprehension because the game’s levels are expansive and designed for a more open-ended playstyle, similar to a sandbox. This is significantly larger compared to levels in earlier editions of the game. The concern arises from whether the two-minute game format will suit these extensive stages properly.
Many people thought that some of the game’s more outlandish tasks (that couldn’t be accomplished within the given two minutes) might have been removed.
Contrary to previous reports by VGC, it appears that nearly all elements from the original will indeed be featured in the remake.
In the revamped version of the game, the less common missions are assigned to the Pro Goals system. After you complete the initial 10 objectives in a stage (like SKATE letters, combo scores, etc.), additional goals become accessible. These are where the more whimsical activities will be incorporated.
Previously, it became known that you could modify the timer duration, allowing for an extension of the two-minute sessions to as long as an hour.
The only thing that won’t be included are THPS4’s minigames, such as playing tennis.
Despite the structural alterations that remain, it’s reassuring to learn that most activities at each level have been preserved, which is a positive development.
