This battle was undeniably one of the most spectacularly animated scenes in the series to date, earning widespread acclaim that led to the episode trending online. However, the sound effects during the fight received considerable criticism, generating discussions about their impact on overall enjoyment. Even renowned animator Sota Shigetsugu, known for his work on “Jujutsu Kaisen” and the action director of the “Chainsaw Man” Reze film, publicly criticized Toei Animation regarding the sound effects.

Although his words were blunt, they resonated with many fans, leading the post to gain widespread attention. The sound quality in the animated series of “One Piece” has long been criticized, but it appears that it’s deteriorated noticeably over time, particularly around the Wano arc, which is unfortunate given the significant improvement in the overall production quality during that period.
