Here are the latest details:

The Story So Far…

After the traumatic incidents at Wildberger Hospital, Caroline Walker yearns for a routine life alongside her sister, Anna. However, as time passes, Anna is plagued by visions of violent and deadly occurrences, prompting her to create unsettling sketches that start to eerily materialize in the world around them.

Eager to rid her of this torment, I ventured to the secluded town of Villa Hess, where a enigmatic clinic hid amidst the towering peaks of southern Chile’s mountains. Despite the welcoming demeanor of the tranquil staff, a chilling reality lurked beneath their smiles, and my sister and I were swiftly plunged into an entirely fresh terror…

So What’s Included in the Demo?

In this initial playable version, you’ll experience approximately an hour of gameplay. The story starts with the sisters embarking on a lengthy voyage to Villa Hess, guided by Isabella – a friend and psychiatrist of Caroline for many years, who suggests they visit the convent-turned-clinic. Upon their arrival, they are warmly welcomed by Sister Angelica, one of the cloistered sisterhood’s members. Initially comfortable, things take a chilling turn when Caroline wakes up in the middle of the night to find Anna missing. Following her sister’s terrified screams, Caroline rushes into a shocking sight – Anna has been abducted. In the grip of the sisterhood’s leader, Mother Lucia, Caroline starts to lose consciousness as she learns that Mother Lucia intends to capture the Wildberger twins and continue the unimaginable work begun by their grandfather, Noah…

Making her way to the infirmary within the confines of the convent, Caroline now finds herself exploring its tight corridors in pursuit of her lost sister. However, as she delves further into the dimly lit institution, it becomes apparent that she is not the only presence here, and a sinister force seems to be stirring from beneath…

An Insight Into Caroline’s New Look

Reflecting on my creative journey with Tormented Souls II, I can’t help but reminisce about the 90s and early 00s survival horror games that left an indelible mark on me. The intriguing narratives and iconic characters from these timeless classics have always been a source of inspiration for us. Remember Claire Redfield’s stylish biker jackets in Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica, or Aya Brea’s trendy denim attire in Parasite Eve II? As we pondered over the design of Caroline Walker in Tormented Souls II, a question lingered: had we strayed too far from our roots? Would Caroline still be identifiable amidst her new, combat-ready silhouette? I wonder what she would think of her transformation.

We found ourselves re-examining her design again, focusing on and highlighting all crucial elements of her attire from the initial game, aiming to update her appearance for the upcoming sequel. A significant aspect was that Caroline has matured since the first game’s events, now embodying a protective elder sibling role, which necessitated a more sophisticated look. This transformation is evident in her color scheme, as her dress is blood red while her jacket is made of scuffed leather, creating a striking contrast that helps distinguish her from the numerous dark settings she’ll be navigating within the game.

In addition, we aimed to maintain key aspects of her design to preserve a similar shape or outline across different games. Therefore, we chose to reintroduce her dress and jacket ensemble, along with Caroline’s fondness for floral prints, bows, and leather details. Just like the progression of The Prince’s appearance from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time to Warrior Within, he kept his flowing sash, arm bracers, and baggy pants but became more menacing in the sequel. We applied a similar method to Caroline’s new design, hoping that our players will appreciate the sense of familiarity it now provides! Extra points for anyone who spotted the Alice Abernathy reference.

In 2025, the sequel to “Tormented Souls” will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and personal computers (PC) through platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
