Initially released on Steam for PC on February 8, 2024, and later on Nintendo Switch on September 5, 2024, the game titled “Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost” made its debut.

This special crossover event brings Toby Fox’s rendition of the “Necrofantasia” theme from the Touhou Project, as well as ZUN’s version of Undertale‘s hit song, “MEGALOVANIA”. Notably, Temmie Chang, animator, illustrator, developer, and lead artist from Undertale, has beautifully illustrated Toby Fox’s latest composition.

It looks like I need to contribute a song as well?!” Toby Fox expressed in a press statement. “In this collaboration, I’ve given Megalovania an extreme makeover, turning it into a cover of Necrofantasia. Some might label it lazy, but honestly, it’s quite cool… Just like Sans or Yukari, so there’s no room for complaints. Oh, by the way, this isn’t related to the song at all, but I must admit, I had some reservations about Sans, a male character, appearing in the predominantly female universe of Touhou. To address that, I dressed him up in women’s clothing. Thanks for understanding everyone. (By the way, I’m not sure if this addresses the issue or not!)
