A resort town in Thailand has become the scene of a gruesome death.
A transgender woman named Woranan Pannacha was reportedly murdered and dismembered by a Chinese individual in the city of Pattaya. The alleged act occurred after she declined his advances for sexual intercourse, as stated by police sources, based on reports from The Bangkok Post.
The individual, aged 42, was apprehended at Samut Prakan airport and is accused of admitting to a murder that occurred on April 25 involving a 25-year-old victim.
It’s said that he supposedly encountered her on a beach and proposed giving her 8,000 baht (approximately $240) in exchange for going to his room for sexual activities. However, when she arrived and rejected his advances, he asked for a partial refund. When she refused, there was an alleged physical fight between them, and he reportedly strangled her until she died.
Reportedly, a man is said to have carried a woman into the bathroom and utilized scissors to incise her chest area where her breast implants were located. He claimed to the police that he desired to manipulate Pannacha’s body, so he made an incision from her neck down to her genital region and extracted her heart, as stated in the Post.
The police claimed that Pannacha’s lungs were found missing, but the suspect allegedly asserted he hadn’t handled those organs.
The following day, he made his way to the airport; however, upon arrival, he was taken into custody. It’s important to note that at the time of his arrest, all he had in his luggage was a water bottle, as stated by Pattaya police chief, Pol Col Anek Sathongyu, according to the Post report.
Later, Commander Tawatkiat Jindakuansanong of Chonburi police provided insight into the potential motive. According to reports from the South China Morning Post, he admitted that his actions were inspired by a TV series in which he sought to imitate the act of opening the victim and extracting organs.
According to the Bangkok Post, the Chinese man who was employed as a welder apparently expressed regret, claiming that he lost self-control during the altercation.
TopMob News has reached out to Chonburi police for comment but hasn’t heard back.
