What Is the Workshop Battle Arc?

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming arc in Tower of God! If you’re curious, let me tell you a bit about it. This storyline actually originates from 2012 in the webtoon. The comic’s second volume kicked off the Workshop Battle arc, and it all began with a captivating prologue centered around Emile.

As you can imagine, the news of Bam’s status has everyone buzzing, and this prologue leads way into the second main arc in Tower of God. The Workshop Battle arc consists of 14 storylines, and each one focuses on the fabled Workshop Battle that is held every five years on Floor 30. This new arc also brings characters like Jyu Viole Grace center stage. Plus with Emile’s mysterious text in mind, Khun Aguero Agnis begins investigating whether or not Bam is alive as suggested.

Tower of God Season 2 Has Hit a Rough Patch

Right now, the second season of “Tower of God” is moving towards the Workshop Battle arc, yet fans seem somewhat unenthused by its upcoming release. The main concern appears to be the overall quality of the second season compared to the first. “Tower of God” debuted in 2020 as a successful series. Although it had some speed issues, Telecom Animation Film and Sola Entertainment did an excellent job adapting SIU’s popular Korean webtoon. Director Takashi Sano delivered impressive direction as season one progressed, but unfortunately, the same level of dedication hasn’t been observed in season two.

The primary issue lies with the shift in the production team behind “Tower of God”. Previously produced by Telecom Film Animation and Sola Entertainment, it is now being handled by The Answer Studio. Additionally, director Akira Suzuki has taken over for season two. Despite having strong source material from the webtoon, fans have found “Tower of God” season two to be a disappointing experience. From its lackluster animation to the flat character designs, the return has been less than satisfactory, leaving viewers with little optimism about the upcoming arc of the series.

Absolutely, there are multiple paths to follow Bam’s adventure, not just through the anime. SIU introduced Tower of God as a webtoon back in 2010, and it continues to be updated. If you’re interested in seeing how SIU initially portrayed Bam, WEBTOON is where you can find the story in English. Fingers crossed that season two of Tower of God will be ready for the Workshop Battle arc soon.
