As a retired track cyclist who represented Great Britain for over two decades, I can confidently say that the upcoming Olympic Games will indeed be a new chapter without the legendary Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny in the team. However, I firmly believe that Team GB still has what it takes to secure a medal position.
For the first time in over 20 years, Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny won’t be part of our team at the upcoming Olympics. This marks a new beginning, yet I remain optimistic that we can still secure a place on the podium. The Netherlands and Australia are the top contenders for the gold, but GB has a chance to battle it out with France for the bronze. The men’s sprint squad typically experience a slump in form leading up to the Olympics, only to astonish everyone with their impressive performances during the Games. They consistently rise to the occasion, silencing the skeptics. I anticipate a bronze medal finish, but I sincerely hope for an unexpected surprise. – Joanna Rowlett
