Although he is often portrayed as a solitary figure, Colter frequently depends on his friends (previously Teddi was part of this group) to assist him in resolving cases. These companions aid Tracker’s main character during his quests for missing individuals and items.
In the show “Tracker,” Teddi, alongside her spouse Velma Bruin, served as one of Colter’s handlers. The duo provided Colter with valuable insights for his investigations through their research, and were always reachable if Justin Hartley’s character required their assistance. Regrettably, the storyline of “Tracker” decided to exclude Teddi from the show during its second season premiere. As viewers later discovered, Teddi and Velma parted ways between the happenings of season 1 and season 2, resulting in Velma, who remains a central character in the series, relocating her office to Reenie Greene’s newly established law firm. Since then, Teddi has not made an appearance on the show.

With Teddi present, they could engage in conversations after ending calls with Colter, but now that she’s gone, there seems to be no one for Velma to discuss things with following those phone conversations. It’s unlikely the show will include extensive scenes of Abby McEnany’s character engaging in self-dialogue when alone.

In Teddi’s presence, Velma, Reenie, and others often worked together closely within the narrative of Tracker. However, it appears that Velma’s character has become less significant in season 2, which is regrettable. The CBS series seems to be sidestepping Velma in season 2, despite her apparent prominence in season 1, and this treatment is not fair to her character. With only a few episodes left in Tracker season 2, the writers need to rectify this issue in season 3.
Tracker Season 3 Needs To Give Velma A Bigger Role (Even Without Teddi)
The CBS Series Must Figure Out What To Do With Velma
Despite Teddi leaving ‘Tracker’ in season 2, it doesn’t necessarily imply that Velma’s role should become smaller, as seems to be happening recently. Velma is a self-sufficient character, capable of carrying her own narrative without needing another character to boost her or provide significant storylines. Therefore, when ‘Tracker’ returns for season 3, the writers should find a way to weave Velma more prominently into the plot, and they have the intelligence to accomplish this effectively.
The truth is that Teddi won’t be returning. Now seems like the perfect time for Tracker to let go of his past with Teddi and give more focus to Velma within the CBS action drama series. Maybe Velma could work alongside Colter, even joining him in the field. Alternatively, Velma could play a bigger role in Reenie’s law firm, allowing the show to delve deeper into their intriguing dynamic. Either way, it’s high time for Tracker season 3 to acknowledge and develop Velma’s significance within the narrative, rectifying the oversight from season 2 after Teddi’s exit.
