Approximately a year ago, unexpectedly, the CBS show named “Tracker” took over as the most-watched TV series on network television in the year 2024. This popularity was well-deserved. Created by Ben H. Winters and featuring Justin Hartley, this series is reminiscent of classic thrillers from the past where a solitary hero arrives to save the day. However, unlike these one-dimensional characters, Hartley’s character, Colter Shaw, possesses complexity beyond mere machismo. As we approach the conclusion of its second season on May 11, Hartley hinted that viewers can expect further exploration of Shaw’s layers as we move towards the finale.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about the series ‘Tracker’, Hartley discussed the final episodes of Season 2. Two out of the five have already been released, while the remaining three will conclude the season without any interruptions. This means that there won’t be any more breaks and fans can look forward to a new episode each week until the entire season is over. As Hartley put it, “You’ll get to watch the last five episodes consecutively. So, you’re essentially getting five separate mini-movies. We refer to them as little movies.”
We have a fondness for movies, particularly those with a touch of mystery, and “Tracker” certainly delivers on that count. The enigma that has intrigued us since day one revolves around Shaw’s father, Ashton, and his mysterious demise. Who was the culprit behind this crime, and what were the circumstances? Hartley hints that we might soon uncover some answers, but be prepared – this may not be the end of the storyline.
As we’re approaching the conclusion of the season, we find ourselves drawn nearer and nearer to unraveling the enigma surrounding Colter’s father’s demise. Was it an accident? Was there another man in the woods? Did someone push him or intentionally harm him? The situation is becoming increasingly puzzling. Now that I have obtained the box mentioned before, will Colter delve into its contents? Will he choose to explore what’s inside? Is he ready to venture down that mysterious path? He gathers more and more hints and information about his father’s fate, and learns who might have been involved. Uncovering the truth promises to be a highly rewarding experience.
‘Tracker’ Season 3 Could Flip the Script on Colter Shaw
Given the impressive success of Tracker‘s second season, it wasn’t unexpected when its renewal for a third season was announced in February. As a network show, viewers can anticipate its return during fall, unlike streaming shows that might require waiting a year or more.
Regarding what might transpire upon Hartley and their team’s return, the leading figure mused, hinting at potential complications for Shaw if roles were to reverse and he found himself pursued instead of the pursuer in the upcoming season.
One of the ideas we’ve been considering is having Colter use his survival skills and ability to find people in a scenario where he’s on the run from the authorities because he’s been framed for something. This could tie into his family background and government connections. It would be intriguing, I think, to explore this concept further. We’ve been brainstorming different directions for our story, but we want to keep the overall narrative arc consistent.
Keep an eye out for the rest of the episodes in Season 2 of Tracker, which will be aired every Sunday until it finishes on May 11. Previous episodes, including Season 1, can be streamed on Paramount+.
