Tragic Death of Influencer Maria Eftimova at 28 Shocks the Climbing Community

An adventurous expedition in the U.K. has led to a terrible tragedy.

Tragically, travel influencer Maria Eftimova passed away on February 22, following a fall of approximately 65 feet whilst ascending the north ridge of Tryfan mountain in Snowdonia, Wales, as reported by the BBC. At just 28 years old, her life was cut far too short.

Close by climbers descended towards Eftimova as a rescuer from the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organization administered CPR, the rescuers informed the news source. Regrettably, these attempts failed to revive her, and she eventually passed away due to her injuries.

Following her passing, the late content creator was remembered lovingly by those closest to her.

According to Megan Griffiths, Maria was an extraordinary individual who truly embraced life in all its facets. She wasn’t just daring and carefree, but she was also exceptionally kind, intelligent, and selfless.

Griffiths went on to say, “Her deeply sorrowful departure will resonate with countless others, and we’re heartbroken to part ways with someone who was more than just a friend.

A different acquaintance, Victoria Critchley, noted Eftimova’s “unquenchable zest for living” and exceptional enthusiasm for snowboarding, mentioning that she intended to carve up the Austrian ski runs prior to her premature demise.

“Tragically,” Critchley told the outlet, “she was taken from her family far far far too soon.”

Moreover, Critchley noted that since Eftimova’s grieving relatives reside in Bulgaria, they must confront the difficulty of arranging for her remains to be transported back to their homeland. This is so they can provide her with a dignified funeral in the presence of her dear ones, as she deserves.

In Eryri National Park over a span of just 10 days, as reported by BBC, Eftimova became the second person to tragically lose their life. On February 16th, while descending Glyder Fach mountain, a woman slipped on some wet grass and fell. Simultaneously, her partner attempted to reach her but also sustained falls resulting in head and wrist injuries. Unfortunately, despite these injuries, the woman did not survive the incident.

The Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organization expressed their sympathies to the families and friends of those affected, as well as gratitude towards the public who attempted to offer assistance.
