A fire department volunteer is under suspicion for disclosing images captured during an incident that appears to depict the tragic murder-suicide of twins, identified as Qaadir Lewis and Naazir Lewis.
42-year-old Scott Kerlin was apprehended and indicted for an alleged misdemeanor obstruction, as stated in a GBI press release on March 18. The accusation is that he took photos at the scene of the teenagers’ death and subsequently disseminated them to the public.
TopMob News has reached out to Kerlin for comment but hasn’t heard back.
I, a dedicated follower of this tragic tale, share the heartbreaking story of Qaasir and Zaazir, two lads aged 19, who were discovered deceased on Georgia‘s Bell Mountain on March 8, a day after their expected flight to Boston. As per their family’s accounts, their airline tickets remained intact within their wallets when their bodies were unearthed by hikers.
The uncle, Rahim Brawner, told NBC affiliate WXIA-TV on the 14th of March, “So, where did they wind up in the mountains then?” He explained that they don’t usually hike in those areas, they had never been to Hiawassee, Georgia before, and they were completely unfamiliar with Bell Mountain. Given that they had never even heard about it, the question remains: how on earth did they find themselves right there?
According to the preliminary findings by the GBI, the twins’ deaths were classified as a murder-suicide. However, Rahim quickly realized that this was not an accurate conclusion.
Yasmine Brawner, their aunt, contributed to the discussion by saying, “This isn’t something they would do. To insinuate that they hurt each other is unthinkable. Some event took place in those mountains, and we need clarity on what happened.
According to a statement made on March 18, the GBI mentioned that autopsies for Qaadir and Naazir have been concluded. Nevertheless, as stated by the agency, they are awaiting further forensic tests from the medical examiner before making an official determination.
While waiting, relatives of Qaadir and Naazir have initiated a GoFundMe appeal to help with the funeral expenses. On the campaign page, their aunt disputes the police’s hypothesis that one twin killed the other and then committed suicide.
Yasmine wrote, “My nephews aren’t the type to engage in such activities. They hail from a household filled with affection, and these twins harbor immense aspirations for their future. They even envision launching their unique clothing brand.
To learn more about Qaadir and Naazir’s case, keep reading.
19-year-old twins, Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis, hailing from Lawrenceville, Ga., tragically lost their lives on March 8 atop Bell Mountain in Hiawassee, Ga., as confirmed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Yasmine Brawner, their aunt, posted on GoFundMe about raising funds for their funeral expenses. She mentioned that Qaadir and Naazir harbored dreams of launching a clothing line of their own.
The authorities labeled the incident as a murder-suicide, but those close to them have voiced their dissent. Yasmine, in particular, on the crowdfunding platform, strongly asserted, “My nephews wouldn’t commit such an act! They hail from a family steeped in love, and the twins had immense aspirations for their future.
On March 7, Qaadir and Naazir were thought to have taken a 7 a.m. flight from Atlanta to Boston to see friends, according to statements made by their family to NBC affiliate WXIA-TV. However, it was surprising news when it was discovered that the brothers had not actually boarded the plane, as they still had their airline tickets in their wallets, their relatives said further.
On March 8, around 11 a.m., the corpses of Qaadir and Naazir were discovered by hikers atop Bell Mountain, Hiawassee, Ga., as reported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in a statement.
According to a press release on March 9th, the GBI reported that both brothers had sustained gunshot injuries. Preliminary investigations suggest that their deaths are likely a case of murder-suicide.
The medical examiner from GBI finished conducting the autopsies, as stated in an update on March 16. However, the final ruling and test results from the medical examiner’s office are still waiting for further forensic evaluations.
Although the Georgian authorities have categorized Qaadir and Naazir’s deaths as a murder-suicide, their relatives remain skeptical about this interpretation.
According to their uncle, Rahim Brawner, these brothers are extremely close and protective towards one another. He explained that they have a deep affection for each other and are rarely apart, making it hard to imagine them causing harm to each other since he has never witnessed any physical altercations between them.
It was disclosed that the twins were discovered deceased, approximately 90 miles away from their residence, at a location their relatives claimed they had never been to before.
I wondered, as Rahim did, “By what means did they find themselves in the mountains?” It’s not their usual terrain. They’ve never ventured out to that place before. They’re not familiar with Hiawassee, Georgia, nor have they ever heard of Bell Mountain. So, one must question, how did they manage to wind up exactly there?
Additionally, their family honored Qaadir and Naazir, with Kairee Powell, their sister, reminiscing about her bond with the twins.
She posted on Facebook, March 16th, “I’ll always cherish the memories and life moments we built together during our childhood years. They brought light to my toughest times and stood by me as my greatest supporters. Their impact will endure in the hearts of mine and our families forever.
