A Florida community is mourning the loss of an accomplished young woman.
It has been confirmed by her family that Kadance Fredericksen, who had recently won the title of Miss Okaloosa County Teen USA 2024 and represented Florida as a delegate in the Miss Florida Teen USA 2024 pageant, tragically passed away after a car accident in Florida. She was only 18 years old.
A teenager’s car supposedly crashed head-on with a large truck in Santa Rosa County, Florida, at approximately 1:30 p.m. on February 17th. The driver of the other vehicle, who was 56 years old, only had minor injuries according to WKRG News 5, as stated in a report from the Florida Highway Patrol about the accident.

After hearing about her death, Kadance’s family told WKRG that she had been accepted into nine universities and aspired to become a veterinarian. They mentioned that she was “absolutely flawless,” and that the student from Baker High School had “the entire world within her grasp.
The Miss Florida USA also shared condolences for the sudden loss of the high school student.

Alongside her pageant work, Kadance nurtured a deep desire to help others. In the year 2017, she founded her own charitable organization, “Kada’s Promise,” which was dedicated to providing comfort items to children residing in challenging living conditions. This endeavor stemmed from her personal experience of growing up in an abusive household.
In her organization’s mission statement, Kada expressed that a singular teddy bear, given as a gift, was the only thing that brought comfort during challenging times. This teddy bear accompanied her through various living spaces and was tightly held during the most frightening moments. It was from these experiences that Kada’s Promise originated.
On the website of her nonprofit, Kadance stated, “Kada’s Promise stands as my most significant achievement so far. It encapsulates my life’s narrative.
