In a GoFundMe campaign established for funeral expenses, Douglas’ loved ones referred to him as “an adored son, sibling, parent, and companion,” as well as “the funniest individual around.
Without specifying the cause, it’s known that Angela mentioned Douglas’ passing as “unanticipated” and it took place in Denver, Colorado.
In her subsequent Facebook post, she admitted that they were caught off-guard and would require some assistance. Specifically, they needed help bringing him back to Alabama from Denver, Colorado, and arranging a fitting memorial service – one that both he and any other individual merits.
Known as “The Singing Garbage Man,” Douglas, whose former fiancée Valerie Cook shared with TMZ that she is sad her children lost their father, touched Katy Perry, a judge on American Idol, so deeply during his 2020 audition that he made her cry.
What she said, struggling with tears, was, ‘That wasn’t mediocre; it was exceptional.’ She added, ‘Just keep being yourself, and you’ll reach incredible heights. You’ll even lead your daughter to the pinnacle of success.’
