A twin is navigating a devastating loss.
The well-known food and lifestyle influencer, often known as “Boo”, Rebecca Wylie Simms, passed away due to a regrettable complication during surgery, as shared by her twin sister and business partner, Sarah Simms Hendrix. At the time of her death, she was 39 years old.
In Sarah’s January 19th Instagram post from Lady & Larder, she expressed that the loss they experienced is beyond measure and has left her heart in pieces. She described Boo as a source of magic, color, and the brightest light she had ever encountered. As they go through this extremely difficult period, she requested compassion and understanding as they work through their pain.
She went on saying, ‘I cannot express enough how much your ongoing assistance means to me. From the very core of my existence, I want to thank you for sticking by our side in these unprecedented circumstances.’
Rebecca had two little girls, Mavis Loretta who was 3 years old and Bertie Lou who was only 2. She was sharing these children with her husband, Sean Montes.
Beyond her collaborations with Sarah and Lady & Larder, she additionally served as a creative director for Lazy Dog Restaurants. She also showcased her artistic creations, such as paintings, graphics, and homemade Halloween costumes, under the Instagram account Wylie West Creative.
Movie director Mark Duplass expressed, “Sending you all our heartfelt love. I promise to honor her unconquerable spirit and her remarkable positivity,” while actress Busy Philipps posted, along with a broken heart symbol, “Oh Sarah, I’m deeply sorry for your grief. Sending you and your family endless love.
Rebecca went on to say, “Pick up that hat. Increase your volume when you sing. Embrace the unexpected. Take your time. Act upon what stirs your emotions. Let yourself be astounded by everything.
The influencer paused for a moment to be truthful about her progress on her future plans. “I glanced at my list of objectives I made on January 1, 2024, and approximately 90% of them remain undone,” Rebecca explained. “But that’s alright.” She went on. “This serves as a reminder that goals can be carried over and do not expire. Let’s trust the process.
She added, “Give grace to ourselves and others.”
Rebecca’s passing comes just two weeks after she shared a moving reflection on the new year.
2025 Wish: Let’s remember to awaken each day with a dance, she penned on January 2, accompanied by a series of photos featuring her family and daughters. “Let’s prioritize listening over speaking, savor moments instead of rushing through them, let gratitude guide our outlook, tackle issues head-on while showing compassion towards people, call more often, get involved in tasks that require physical effort, and write letters more frequently.
Rebecca went on to say, “Pick up that hat. Amplify your singing. Embrace the unexpected. Proceed with caution. Act according to your feelings. Marvel at everything.
The influencer paused for a moment to be truthful about her progress on future plans. “I glanced at my list of objectives from January 1, 24, and I see that 90% of them remain unchecked,” Rebecca explained. “And that’s alright.” She added, “This serves as a reminder that goals can be carried over and don’t have an expiration date. Let us trust the process.
She added, “Give grace to ourselves and others.”
