Transformers One Finally Shares the Origins of Decepticon Logo

As a lifelong Transformers fan who grew up with Optimus Prime and Megatron battling it out on my TV screen, the release of “Transformers One” has been nothing short of exhilarating! The prequel film delves deep into the complex history of these iconic characters, unraveling the secrets behind their friendship turned rivalry.

In “Transformers One,” we delve into the past friendship of Orion Pax and D-16, who later transform into Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively. The movie showcases not just their transformation into bitter foes but also the genesis of both the Autobots and Decepticons. A significant aspect of the film is the emergence of the villainous robots whose impact on pop culture continues to resonate, as well as the origins of the army’s emblem. Here at egmr.ru, we thought it fitting to shed light on the evolution of the Decepticons’ logo and its surprising connections to the Primes.

Among all the past protectors of Cybertron, none could rival the might of Megatronus Prime, a Transformer whose power was worthy of awe. D-16 admired this Prime more than any other, aspiring to emulate his towering influence. At the film’s outset, Orion bestows upon D-16 the emblem of Megatronus, coincidentally representing the upcoming Decepticons. Although Pax gifts his friend with a simple sticker of the symbol, this emblem carries immense weight and significance in the ensuing events.

The Decepticons’ Logo Plays Big in Transformers One

In the prequel movie, although D-16 could potentially take on the role of Megatron, the Decepticon leader, he doesn’t play the main antagonist. Instead, it’s Sentinel Prime, who is currently leading Cybertron and is often seen as a savior by many, who turns out to be the film’s villain. Interestingly, he secretly collaborates with the sinister Quintessons. When D-16 learns about Sentinel’s true objectives, it leaves him deeply disappointed and betrayed because, unlike most robots on Cybertron, he can transform.

In their encounter after Sentinel Prime admitted to murdering the Primes, D-16 finds a carved emblem of Megatronus Prime on Sentinel – an act that was initially perceived as a form of punishment. However, this symbol would later hold significance for Megatron, serving as a symbol of honor and pride. Seeking vengeance against Sentinel, Megatron in the prequel film brutally dismantles him using nothing but his raw strength, demonstrating the film’s ominous and dark tone.

The Deceptions’ Future

Previously in the movie, D-16 and Orion Pax encountered a group of Transformers called the “High Guard”. This force included robots like Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, and others who later became Decepticons when D-16 transformed into Megatron. In the film’s end credits, viewers saw the formal emergence of the Decepticons, marking the beginning of the Cybertronian war.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but notice the striking similarities between Megatron and his predecessor, Megatronus Prime. Not only did he adopt Megatronus’ name, but he also chose to bear the Decepticon logo – a symbol that he would later stamp onto his followers, creating an army of his own. Despite the excitement surrounding this, it seems there’s no official confirmation yet about a sequel to “Transformers One”. Yet, with the enigmatic Quintessons still lurking and posing a significant threat to both Autobots and Decepticons, the stage could be set for an engaging follow-up storyline.
