What Is Transformers One?

Led by Josh Cooley (“Toy Story 4”) in direction and a script penned by Andrew Barrer (“Ant-Man and the Wasp”), Gabriel Ferrari (“No Exit”), and Steve Desmond (“Knock at the Cabin”), “Transformers One” is an animation production from Paramount Animation. Industrial Light & Magic handles the animation. The film hits theaters on September 20th. Starring Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax / Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16 / Megatron, Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1, Keegan-Michael Key as B-127 / Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Autobot Alpha Trion.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura has been appointed as producer for Di Vonaventura Pictures, joined by Michael Bay, producer of live-action Transformers films, and a team consisting of Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem. The upcoming animated film, named “Transformers One,” offers an intriguing backstory: Optimus Prime and Megatron, long-time adversaries, were initially friends with an unbreakable bond forged like brothers. Their relationship forever altered the destiny of Cybertron.
