Transformers One Streaming Date Revealed (And It’s Way Sooner Than You Expect)

As a lifelong Transformers fan who grew up with the original cartoon series and spent countless hours rewinding the VHS tapes to watch Optimus Prime save the day, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the arrival of “Transformers One” on Paramount+. The news that we won’t have to wait until next year to stream this cinematic gem is nothing short of music to my ears!

Upon the theater release of “Transformers One” earlier this year, many were curious if the animated film could match the greatness of the initial movie in the franchise. The 1986 film is renowned for its captivating storyline and a level of violence not typically found in the original animated series. Similar to the premiere outing, “Transformers One” now allows fans to stream the latest movie whenever they desire. It’s no shock that “Transformers One” would end up on a streaming platform, but what might surprise you is how swiftly it will be available.

The much-anticipated “Transformers One” is officially coming to Paramount+, joining an extensive collection of Transformers series and movies available on the streaming platform. Interestingly enough, the animated movie will debut as early as Friday, November 15th, so fans of the Autobots and Decepticons won’t have to wait long before witnessing this new chapter in their epic struggle or revisiting it.

Transformers One: ‘Till All Are One

In our glowing review of “Transformers One”, we seized the moment to emphasize how the intense narrative offered an outstanding portrayal of Cybertron and the conflict between Autobots and Decepticons. The friendship between Orion and D-16 is exceptionally well-depicted in this movie, with their personalities complementing each other effectively. This is not only due to skillful writing but also the exceptional voice talents of Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry. It’s a challenging task to live up to Peter Cullen’s iconic portrayal of Optimus Prime, but Hemsworth delivers an impressive performance here, managing to bring his own unique touch while still being a fitting replacement for the usual voice actor of Optimus.

In our assessment, it’s clear that Henry’s portrayal of D-16 is consistent throughout, even as his character embarks on a journey towards the dark side. The evolution of Megatron from villain to hero, and Optimus Prime from hero to leader, is convincing and heartbreaking, as these former allies drift apart and lead their armies into an endless conflict. There are instances in the movie where the transformation of both Optimus Prime and Megatron becomes evident, and these transitions feel deserved due to a well-constructed narrative setup.

Transformers Two?

Although Transformers One didn’t quite meet expectations, as of now, Paramount hasn’t confirmed a sequel. However, rest assured that the world of Cybertron isn’t being abandoned. In fact, it’s been announced that Paramount is planning to produce a live-action crossover film between Transformers and G.I. Joe, marking the first time these Hasbro characters collide on screen.

For those who watched the last live-action Transformers movie titled “Transformers: Rise of The Beasts,” the forthcoming crossover may not be entirely unexpected. At the end of that film, it was hinted that G.I. Joe was active in this live-action universe. However, the specifics about how G.I. Joe will manifest in the upcoming movie are still a mystery. Despite the unknown details regarding their appearance, many fans have been eagerly anticipating this crossover.
