If you remember the unveiling of “Transformers: Reactivate” at The Game Awards in 2022, it shows that your memory is sharper than ours.
During Geoff’s stream, there was this high-end, cryptic CG trailer unveiled, teasing a console launch in 2023. Well, as it turned out, that didn’t pan out. Now, unfortunately, the team behind it decided to call off the project entirely.
According to a post from game developer Splash Damage on social media, they’ve decided to halt the development of the game titled Transformers: Reactivate.
It appears that the unfortunate announcement has been made – the termination of this project may lead to job losses at the London-based studio. The message further explains that the company will be reducing its size in order to redirect their energies towards other projects. Regrettably, various positions within the studio could now face potential redundancy, despite everyone’s best efforts.
It seems that the progress of Transformers: Reactivate has faced some bumps in the road, as there isn’t much information about its current state. Occasionally, a glimpse of early gameplay footage has surfaced, but overall, it hasn’t been very active in development over the past few years.
“Hasbro was an incredible and supportive partner throughout,” Splash Damage clarifies.
As a die-hard fan, I’ve eagerly been awaiting the arrival of Transformers: Reactivate. Can you imagine all the possibilities and potential storylines we could discuss if it were out already? Share your thoughts and fantasies about this upcoming masterpiece in the comments section below!
