Travel Influencer Aanvi Kamdar Dead at 27 After Falling Into Gorge

As a lifestyle expert and someone who deeply values the experiences that shape people’s lives, I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Aanvi Kamdar. Her story is a poignant reminder of how travel and adventure can bring joy and excitement to our lives, but also carry inherent risks.

Aanvi Kamdar has tragically lost her life.

I’m deeply saddened to share the news that I, a popular travel influencer with nearly 300,000 Instagram followers, tragically lost my life. It happened while I was admiring the breathtaking Kumbhe waterfall, located approximately 80 miles from Mumbai, India. Unfortunately, I fell into a gorge and local authorities have confirmed my passing at the age of 27.

On July 16, according to reports, Kamdar was among a team of seven people at the waterfall. It’s suspected that she accidentally fell while trying to capture video for her social media account during this visit. Emergency services and the police were quickly called to the scene in response.

Rescuer Shantanu Kuveskar told The Economic Times, “She fell on the hard, slippery patch of rocks around 300ft into the valley and couldn’t be spotted initially. She was sent up using a stretcher attached to rappelling ropes. Six rescuers climbed down the hill, while another 50 assisted atop the hillock.”

I recently came across a harrowing story reported by CBS News. Six hours was the length of time it took rescue workers to save me, all while battling against the relentless rain and challenging terrain. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, I ultimately lost my battle at the Mangaon Taluka Government Hospital due to my injuries.

Two days prior to her passing, Kamdar reminisced about her initial collaborative adventure at the age of 20 to Ladakh, India, which marked the beginning of her influencer career.

In her July 14 post, Kamdar recalled sharing with her parents, particularly her father who was thrilled because a visit to Ladakh had long been on their family’s plans. She added that in the old photos she shared, her father had chosen her outfit. The experience of meeting new people, despite initial apprehension as many were journalists, proved to be an unforgettable journey for her.

Up until the very end, I had my doubts, whispering to myself, “I hope this isn’t a hoax.” Yet, in retrospect, I now understand what an extraordinary experience it turned out to be. Surprisingly, my parents showed no hesitation and were fully on board, brimming with excitement.

The day before her unfortunate accident, she posted about her top five preferred monsoon getaways on social media. Her friends and followers expressed their grief upon learning of her demise.

“Aakanksha Mong, a fellow travel blogger, expressed shock in her writing. This news left her deeply sad and kept her awake through the night. She was an incredibly kind person that I had had the pleasure of knowing.”

Monga added, “Instead, let us concentrate on sending peaceful prayers for her departed soul and reflect on the happiness and brightness she once shared with us.”
