In a lengthy video, the girlfriend of Heisman Trophy recipient Travis Hunter has voiced her concerns over the unwanted online scrutiny she’s faced in the past few weeks.

Prior to their engagement in February, Leanna discussed with Travis the need for him to clear her name in public.

In a video uploaded to TikTok on December 16th, the young man aged 23 stated, “Travis gave me his approval to share these sentiments.

On December 14th, during the Heisman Trophy award ceremony, Leanna felt a wave of emotion when remembering the events. This stirred up talk online that perhaps she hadn’t been genuinely pleased for her fiancé as he received college football’s most prestigious accolade.

In particular, social media users expressed their concerns when it appeared that Leanna was being instructed by her coach Deion Sanders, famously known as “Coach Prime,” to stand up and cheer for Travis.

Leanna stated on TikTok, “As soon as they announced his name, I was about to stand up,” she explained. “When you watch the video, his mother didn’t rise, so I thought, ‘Perhaps I shouldn’t stand either, I’ll just stay seated.’

After spotting Travis rise from his seat, she felt it was fitting to follow suit, greet him, and offer congratulations. However, upon noticing a camera pointed directly at Coach Prime, she realized they were recording the moment. Given people’s tendency to post such clips online, she thought better of being in that frame, so she decided to sit back down instead.

Overflowing with emotion, I intentionally stepped away from the camera’s gaze so they could savor their special moment uninterrupted. It wasn’t about me or anyone else telling me what to do; it was purely my own excitement for him that made me stand up and cheer. Truth be told, I was weeping with joy right there in my seat, wanting nothing more than to absorb every precious second of it. All I desired was for his moment to shine, undiluted by any distraction—a wish born out of pure admiration for him and his loved ones.

Additionally, Leanna spoke about other recently popular events, such as the instance when she seemed slightly irritated as Travis, aged 21, engaged with fans after the event in New York City.

“I wasn’t annoyed with no fans at all,” she said. “I’m never annoyed with fans.”

She remarked, ‘The stories people invent are simply astonishing! They’re not based on reality, and I believe they’re twisting facts to fit their narrative. Unfortunately, some people seem to be easily swayed by these fabrications spread online.’

She expressed, “I’m incredibly frustrated since it’s widely known that I stand by Travis in all his victories and endeavors, as I deeply admire and cherish him. To me, he’s flawless.

Leanna also made it clear that she wasn’t going to address “these crazy narratives” anymore.

However, it’s not just her voice that’s being heard following the social media uproar. Interestingly enough, before her video went live, Travis had already taken to a Twitch stream to defend his partner.

Travis made it clear during his stream on Dec 15th, “Let’s discuss something else. Move on with your lives. Stop speculating about my personal affairs. I’m well aware of what I have going on in my life. My partner has been by my side for five years now, whereas you all are just now starting to pay attention and get involved.
