He asked fellow sports reporter Laura Rutledge, during the August 27 broadcast of NFL Live, “Is it known that Travis Kelce didn’t purchase an engagement ring?” This question came after she joked about him buying a racehorse but not a diamond for his girlfriend.
When Rutledge, alongside panelists Booger McFarland and Andrew Hawkins, inquired if I had any major announcements, I simply smiled and responded, “I merely posed a query regarding the source of Laura’s knowledge that I hadn’t purchased an engagement ring.”
“In that moment, the heavy quietness seemed to say a lot, Schefty,” McFarland jokingly commented. “It seems everyone in America is curious.”

Following his blunder, which Travis himself called “purely metal,” he mustered up courage and extended an invitation to the Grammy winner, suggesting they attend the Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium together.
He expressed on The Pat McAfee Show that he had made an invitation. Specifically, he tossed the idea her way by suggesting, “I’ve noticed your energetic performances at Arrowhead, maybe you should come witness my performance there and let’s see who puts on a more exciting show.” So, we’ll have to wait and find out what transpires in the upcoming days.
