Travis Kelce is leaning into losing ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl.
The tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, set to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on February 9th, has shared the reasons behind incorporating weight loss and diet changes into his training regime as he prepares for the upcoming championship match.
During a press conference on February 6th, Travis mentioned, “I’ve been sticking to a clean diet, drinking less lately. As a result, I’ve shed a few pounds this week. Fingers crossed, I can outrun a few Eagles on the field.
When someone jokingly suggested that his new diet might slow him down, Travis responded by saying that such a remark would serve as additional motivation for him during the game. He then added, “Don’t you see, that’s just the motivation I needed!
However, Travis isn’t solely driven by criticism. On the contrary, he finds Taylor Swift’s dedication and work ethic during her international “Eras” tour incredibly inspiring. He aims to learn quite a bit from her diligence.
He went on to say that what he witnessed during last year’s tour was truly impressive. The constant travel from one country to another, week after week, took a toll on both her body and mind, not just hers alone, but the entire tour. It was like a well-oiled machine, something I found myself admiring as I watched.
Speaking of who else is inspiring the three-time Super Bowl champion? It’s his brother Jason Kelce’s daughters – Wyatt (age 5), Elliotte (age 4), and Bennett (aged 23 months) – whom he shares with his wife, Kylie Kelce.
Travis mentioned that seeing the girls donning ‘Go Uncle Travvy’ shirts brings joy to his heart and provides an additional motivation for him. He aspires to make them proud and bring some smiles to their faces during the game.
Despite the fact that his nieces support Uncle Trav, it’s been made clear by their parents, former Eagles player Jason (who retired last year) and Kylie, that they’re backing the Birds. However, Travis is choosing to let go of any hard feelings about this.
He expressed his feelings by saying, ‘Jason and Kylie, I adore them deeply,’ and emphasized that this game won’t come between the depth of my affection for them.

Super Bowl Sunday kicks off at 6:30 p.m. EST on Feb. 9.
The Big Game is heading to The Big Easy and taking place at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome.
Spectators can tune in to watch the Super Bowl on FOX and FOX Deportes. For those who want to stream it instead, they can quickly navigate to Tubi, the NFL app, or live streaming platforms that carry FOX’s broadcast of the game such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Fubo, according to Fox Sports.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are set to compete in this year’s Super Bowl, which serves as the final game of the NFL season. Representing their respective conferences, the Kansas City Chiefs hail from the American Football Conference (AFC), while the Philadelphia Eagles represent the National Football Conference (NFC). The winner of this matchup will be crowned the NFL champion for that year.
Apart from the pride that comes with winning, the triumphant team of the Super Bowl receives the Vince Lombardi Trophy, which is named after the renowned football coach, Vince Lombardi. The coach who led the Green Bay Packers to victory in the first-ever Super Bowl. Not only does the winning team get this prestigious trophy, but the players, coaches, executives, and other crucial staff members within the organization also receive Super Bowl rings.
This year, the Kansas City Chiefs aim to create history by becoming the first NFL team to win three Super Bowls consecutively. They have already clinched victories at the 2024 and 2023 Super Bowls, increasing their title count to four. They previously won the Super Bowl in 2020 and 1970 as well.
On the other hand, the Eagles last won a Super Bowl in 2018, making it their only victory in this competition so far. However, they are eager to bring another championship home, especially since this game represents a rematch against the Chiefs, who defeated them at the 2023 Super Bowl.
Jalen Hurts currently serves as the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, having joined them in 2020. As reported by NBC Sports Philadelphia, an extraordinary feat marks his postseason career: since 20XX, he has successfully thrown at least 20 passes without throwing a single interception in seven consecutive games – setting a record unparalleled in the history of the NFL.
Another notable figure is Saquon Barkley, a running back who’s almost matching the single-season rushing record (including playoffs) established by Hall of Famer Terrell Davis. Incidentally, both he and defensive back Cooper DeJean share their birthdays on Super Bowl Sunday.
Don’t forget about A.J. Brown, a wide receiver who’s been lauded for his on-field prowess and gone viral for off-field moments, such as when he took out a book to read during the playoffs.
When it comes to the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes is their quarterback. Since joining the team in 2017, he’s won three Super Bowls (in 2020, 2023, and 2024) and earned two MVP awards from the NFL Honors.
You should also note Chris Jones, their defensive tackle who holds the fourth most sacks in Chiefs history. And let’s not forget Travis Kelce, the tight end known for dating Taylor Swift and holding the record for the most receiving touchdowns in Chiefs history.
In most games, the team with the greatest accumulated points at the conclusion of play emerges victorious.
In football, the action unfolds on two fronts: the offense aims to score points, while the defense endeavors to prevent them from doing so.
Several methods are employed by teams to rack up points. The first is a touchdown, achieved when a team advances their ball into their opponent’s end zone (the scoring areas at the ends of the field). For a touchdown to be valid, any part of the ball must pass over the goal line, which separates the end zone from the rest of the playing field.
When a team scores a touchdown, they receive six points. They then have an opportunity to earn additional points by either kicking the ball from the 15-yard line through the goalposts for one point or attempting a two-point conversion, which involves having one play starting from the two-yard line to return the ball to the end zone for two points.
If the offense fails to reach the end zone for a touchdown but is close, they can opt for a field goal – this happens when they kick the ball through the goalpost for three points.
Following a score, the other team takes possession of the ball.
Let’s go over the fundamentals: A football field stretches 100 yards. Each team gets a fixed number of attempts, called downs, to move the ball towards their opponent’s end zone to score.
At the beginning of an attempt, the offense and defense align on opposite sides of a line known as the line of scrimmage. They can’t cross this line until the ball is snapped (given to the quarterback on the offense to start the play).
The offense then has four tries to move the ball at least 10 yards downfield by running or passing the ball. If they succeed, they keep the ball and get another four attempts. This process continues until the offense either reaches the end zone or is stopped from advancing 10 yards within four downs, giving the other team possession of the ball.
The defense can prevent the offense from moving downfield in various ways, such as by tackling, blocking, intercepting (catching a pass intended for an offensive player), or recovering a fumble (when the offense drops the ball during play). A referee will penalize any player on either side who breaks the rules of the game.
This week has been quite hectic for Kendrick Lamar. Just days after bagging five awards at the 2025 Grammys, he’s set to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and interestingly, this isn’t his debut performance there. In fact, he was part of the 2022 Halftime Show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.
The players will definitely participate in the Super Bowl, and it appears that Taylor will be attending the game as well. According to Travis’ brother Jason Kelce, who spoke with People on February 4th, everyone is expected to attend, although he cautions not to speak for everyone. However, he believes that Trav, Taylor, their families, and friends will all be present. Despite her Pennsylvania origins, Travis isn’t concerned about Taylor’s allegiances as he thinks she’ll support the Chiefs this time around. Scott Swift, Taylor’s father, is an Eagles fan, but Travis suggests that he may root for the Chiefs, although they haven’t discussed it yet. There has been some speculation about whether there might be another ring presented during the Super Bowl, and when a reporter asked Travis if he planned to propose to Taylor at halftime, he playfully responded, “Wouldn’t you like to know?” With both teams boasting impressive fanbases, it remains to be seen who else will be in attendance at the Superdome.
