Travis Kelce is fully aware that Taylor Swift, his girlfriend, has long anticipated the moment when she would regain ownership of her music.
On May 30th, when Taylor Swift, known for her hit “Karma,” shared that she had purchased the masters to her first six albums on Instagram, her boyfriend of almost two years was prompt in expressing his support by liking her post.
She expressed, “We are meant to be together,” accompanied by images of her albums titled Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation. She then appended, “Find the letter on my website with a smiley face.
On their website, a digitally crafted handwritten-style letter penned by the Grammy winner unveiled the exciting announcement.
“All of the music I’ve ever made,” she wrote, “now belongs…to me.”
Taylor went on, “Every one of my music videos, concert recordings, album covers and photos, unheard songs, memories, enchantment, chaos – every bit of it from each phase of my career. Essentially, all that I’ve created throughout my life.
The struggle over the rights to her music became more intense following Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings LLC acquiring her previous record label, Big Machine Records, in June 2019. (He later sold the label to Shamrock Capital, allowing Taylor Swift to regain control of the masters the following year.)
Back then, Taylor openly discussed her endeavor to acquire ownership of her music prior to her parting from her initial record label, which occurred at the end of 2018.
For quite some time, she had been requesting and begging for the chance to claim ownership of her work. However, what she received was an offer to re-sign with Big Machine Records, where she could “earn” one album back at a time, receiving each new one in exchange for the previous one she submitted. Unwilling to sign the contract, as she knew that Scott Borchetta would eventually sell the label, thereby selling her and her future along with it. (Swift wrote this on her Tumblr page)
During the course of her battle, Taylor asserted control over her own work by re-recording songs that weren’t hers, unveiling Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version) between 2022 and 2024.
In a heartfelt note to her fans, Taylor expressed gratitude by saying, “It’s your ardent enthusiasm for those albums and the triumph of The Eras Tour that enabled me to regain ownership of my music.” She continued, “I can hardly express how thankful I am for your role in returning this work, which has been the centerpiece of my life, back to me.

Following his blunder, which Travis would later refer to as being “as cold as steel,” he mustered up courage and extended an invitation for the Grammy-winning artist to witness the Chiefs’ game at Arrowhead Stadium.
He mentioned on The Pat McAfee Show that he had made an offer, specifically by tossing the ball into her court. In other words, he told her, “I’ve noticed your amazing performances at Arrowhead, perhaps you could come witness my performance there and we’ll see who shines brighter.” So, we’ll have to wait and see what unfolds in the coming days.
Travis sported a mustache, having grown it in August at the training camp, when he initially met Taylor for the first time.
