As a devoted fan, I’m saddened to share that the thrilling free-to-play “extreme action RPG,” TRIBE NINE, will be closing its doors on November 27. This announcement comes from none other than Akatsuki Games and Too Kyo Games themselves.
On February 20, TRIBE NINE officially debuted on PC (via Steam), as well as iOS and Android devices. Notably, this announcement of its shutdown came just under three months following the game’s initial release.
Originally planned updates, such as Chapter 4’s debut and the introduction of playable characters Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, have now been postponed indefinitely.
Here is the full message from Akatsuki Games on the game’s end of service:
Thank you for continuing to play TRIBE NINE.
We regret to inform you that service for TRIBE NINE will be terminated on November 27, 2025 JST.
Ever since the game was first introduced, our dedicated development and operational teams have been committed to delivering top-notch service and enhancing player enjoyment. After thorough deliberation, we’ve reached a challenging conclusion: it’s time to discontinue the game’s operation.
We are unfortunately unable to deliver Chapter 4 of the story, which we had previously announced.
We apologize for the sudden nature of this announcement to our players.
Details about when the service will end, along with any accompanying steps or instructions, will be communicated via in-game messages and on our main website.
Regarding Future Updates and New Content
By May 14, 2025, 10:00 PM Pacific Time, we’ve decided to halt all planned updates and fresh content launches.
Furthermore, the announced changes, updates, and bug resolutions (as communicated through in-game messages) will not be enacted.
Regarding Unreleased Characters
Due to the discontinuation of the service, the planned additions of Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba to the game, as previously outlined in our schedule, have unfortunately been scrapped.
As a result of this alteration, any previously spent money on Enigma Entities that were used to access Armed Support and Advanced Support, plus the purchase of Contract Levels for “Support Contract – Revenio,” where Saizo Akiba’s Skin was obtainable, will now be returned.
Refunds for Paid Enigma Entities will commence after “Support Contract – Revenio” ends.
Purchases of Items within the App or through the Web Store
As of May 14, 2025 at 22:00:00 GMT-8, paid Enigma Entities and Daily Passes will no longer be sold.
*Enigma Entities will continue to be available for use even after May 14, 2025 at 22:00:00 GMT-8.
