ITV’s gripping thriller, Trigger Point, has completed filming for its third season, as confirmed by Vicky McClure herself. In fact, the character actress who plays Lana Washington described this series as her personal favorite thus far.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, McClure posted: “HAPPY ‘TRIGGER POINT’ 3 WRAP DAY!!!
As a devoted movie enthusiast, I must express that while not all contributors from TP3 are featured in this snapshot, every single member of the crew and cast has turned The Piece 3 into my preferred version thus far!
“Thank you SO much everyone, I’ve loved every single day of this shoot with you all.
“Can’t wait for you all to watch their hard work and talents hit the @itv screen!”
The upcoming episode picks up where the thrilling season 2 conclusion left off, as Lana found herself abducted by a terrorist group, facing a heart-wrenching decision between her duties and the people she holds dearest.
In Season 3, Lana and her team will uncover a bomb threat that turns out to be the opening act of a malicious campaign of revenge.
“Someone is targeting individuals, and demanding revenge,” reads the official synopsis.
Working together with the Police’s Counter-Terrorism team, the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit is in a hurry to locate the bombing suspect before they can strike again.
Predictably tense stuff from the Jed Mercurio-produced drama!
The confirmation for another season of the show on ITV was made, as its viewership continued to be robust during the second airing. At that moment, Polly Hill, the head of drama at the channel, expressed her joy by stating: “I’m thrilled that Trigger Point will come back for a third series, and Vicky McClure will once again take on the role of Lana Washington.
In the upcoming season, every actor delivers a stellar performance that will captivate you… expect numerous surprises, unexpected events, and, as always, some thrilling explosions. You’re bound to find it enthralling!
Regarding the future plot developments, we’ll just have to stay tuned – and it’s anyone’s bet when we’ll be able to tune in again, since not even McClure knows when the series might come back.
