Trigun Stampede Producer Shares His Surprising Approach to the Remake

As a die-hard Trigun fan who’s been following this series since its inception, I can’t help but be thrilled about the upcoming sequel, Trigun Stargaze! The unique approach taken by Producer Katsuhiro Takei to assemble his team for this project is nothing short of genius. By bringing together both seasoned and fresh eyes on the world of Trigun, I have no doubt that they’ll breathe new life into Vash’s story while staying true to its spirit.

Trigun Stampede brought back the Humanoid Typhoon and the Planet Gunsmoke to the small screen for the first time in decades. Earlier this year, a new look was shared by Studio Orange regarding Trigun Stargaze, the sequel to Stampede that not only continues Vash’s story but will bring some of its characters closer to their original designs. Recently, we here at ComicBook had the opportunity to chat with Trigun Stampede Producer Katsuhiro Takei, who took the chance to reveal some shocking aspects of working on the return of the $60 Billion Double Dollar Man.

During the conversation with Takei, the producer shared his strategy for reimagining Vash’s cherished tale, “One of my initial steps was to reacquaint myself with the series, as I am a big fan of the manga and ’90s anime. Next, I surrounded myself with individuals who hadn’t delved deeply into the world of ‘Trigun’. Their lack of extensive history with the series wasn’t a concern. Instead, it was more about their duration of exposure or familiarity with ‘Trigun’. Since I have had decades of immersion in ‘Trigun’, these individuals had a relatively shorter acquaintance. However, they were passionate fans of ‘Trigun’. This diversity in experience allowed me to gain a novel perspective and fresh insights from them.”

Trigun Will Return

From a gaming perspective, I’m still waiting for Studio Orange to spill the beans about when we’ll get our hands on Trigun Stargaze. However, fans need not worry as they’ll get a taste of the studio’s creativity later this year with Beastars: The Final Season, set to drop on Netflix come December.

To stay up-to-date with “Trigun Stampede” before its television premiere, you can find it streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll at the moment. Here’s a brief summary of the series from the streaming service: Vash the Stampede is a pacifist gunslinger with a $6 million bounty on his head, which leaves two reporters, Meryl Stryfe (a rookie) and her veteran partner, puzzled. As they investigate this enigmatic vigilante, they discover a surprising truth – he appears to have an evil twin brother named Millions Knives.
