Trigun Stampede Team Teases the Anime's MCU Inspiration

As a seasoned gamer and anime enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the revival of Trigun is a breath of fresh air! Back in the ’90s, Vash the Stampede was a household name, and his witty humor and gun-slinging battles made him an instant favorite. Now, with Trigun Stampede, it’s like we’ve been given a second chance to witness Vash’s adventures all over again!

Currently, “Trigun” has been revitalized with a new look. In the ’90s, viewers were captivated as Vash the Stampede stormed through the anime world. Known for his quick wit and gunfighting action, Vash was the heart of “Trigun”, and he’s back in action in “Trigun Stampede”. Now, everyone is waiting to see what happens next with this reboot, and it appears that Studio Orange will draw inspiration from Marvel as they move forward.

The surprising confession comes from Katsuhiro Takei, a well-known producer at Studio Orange that brought Trigun Stampede to life. During an interview with GameSpot, the executive talked about the process of developing the reboot, and series creator Yasuhiro Nightow was rather inspired by Marvel and its cinematic universe.

During an early conversation with Yasuhiro Nightow regarding the adaptation of our latest “Trigun”, we delved deeply into his preferences. One suggestion he made, as the producer shared, was inspired by the Marvel series on Netflix.

“Since Marvel was reintroducing its classic titles in modern versions at that time, it served as a rich source of inspiration. This experience taught us that while making significant changes, maintaining a certain level of respect for the originals helps to preserve the essence of the original property. This insight was very motivating.”

Moving forward, we discover what aspects of the Marvel Universe captivated Yasuhiro the most. It appears that his fascination originated from the Daredevil series on Netflix, which then expanded to encompass the entire Marvel Studios universe.

As a devoted fan, I can’t forget the thrill of my initial dive into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It all began with the captivating Netflix series, Daredevil. Then, the moment that marked the beginning of an unforgettable journey – the first Iron Man movie. From there, I found myself immersed in a world where every subsequent MCU film became part of my cinematic odyssey.

Given how big the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become, it can be easy to forget the superhero franchise deals with adaptations and remakes. We have seen the MCU tackle a number of characters we’ve seen on screen before whether we’re talking Spider-Man or Captain America. For creators like Yasuhiro, the MCU gives an example of how adapted properties can be revisited time and again. Of course, Trigun is now doing the same as its new anime run has brought to life a take on Vash that we’ve never seen before. And if Studio Orange happens to slip in a Daredevil nod during Trigun Stargaze, we won’t be mad about it.

If you’re eager to witness the reboot of the popular anime, “Trigun”, head over to Crunchyroll right now where it’s currently streaming. For a deeper understanding of the series, feel free to peruse the official summary of “Trigun” that follows:

“Vash the Stampede is a cheerful gun-slinger who prefers peace, yet there’s a $$6 million bounty on his head. This perplexes inexperienced reporter Meryl Stryfe and her seasoned partner as they delve into this vigilante’s life, only to discover a man abhorring violence. However, their probe uncovers something sinister – his wicked twin brother, Millions Knives.”
