Trump’s Dream Team: Rubio to RFK Jr. – Inside the Controversial Cabinet Shakeup!

President Donald Trump’s Cabinet is full.

Each of the 15 nominations he made, with some being more contentious than others, have all received approval from the U.S. Senate.

In this scenario, Secretary of State Marco Rubio was the exceptional choice who gained consensus from both political parties, even earning the approval of 10 Democratic senators who didn’t back any of Trump’s other nominees. On the other hand, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth encountered significant challenges during confirmation, ultimately requiring Vice President J.D. Vance to break a tie after receiving no support from Democrats and having three Republican senators voting against him.

But Trump got his desired group all the same.

According to Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution, the U.S. Cabinet serves as the primary advisory group for the President. Currently, it consists of the Vice President and the heads of 15 departments, who are referred to as secretaries in all but one case – the Attorney General, who oversees the Department of Justice. Contrary to a common misconception, Elon Musk is not a Cabinet member.

As a diehard enthusiast, I can’t help but delve into the intricacies of the executive branch. There are ten key positions within the Cabinet, some demanding validation from the Senate (such as the CIA director and ambassador to the United Nations), while others bypass this step (like the White House chief of staff).

As a devoted follower, I’m sharing this update: Trump’s Cabinet is nearly complete, with the commander-in-chief deciding against proceeding with New York Rep. Elise Stefanik’s nomination as U.N. Ambassador. This move prevents a special election from being triggered for her vacated seat in Congress.

Trump’s unique style in governance contrasts significantly with traditional methods, yet the concept of a Cabinet has remained since its inception. For instance, Thomas Jefferson served as the first Secretary of State under President George Washington, but it wasn’t until President Jimmy Carter signed it into law in 1977 that we had a Department of Energy.

In Trump’s initial term, only two of his Cabinet appointees, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and HUD Secretary Ben Carson, remained in their positions for all four years, leaving after Joe Biden was inaugurated on January 20, 2021. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao were about to serve the entire term but chose to resign on January 7, 2021.

Before any advancements on that matter, let me present to you Trump’s second Cabinet, arranged in the sequence for assuming the presidency (excluding Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and President Pro Tempore of the Senate Chuck Grassley who are ranked after the vice president but before the Secretary of State):

1. Vice President – Mike Pence
2. Secretary of State – Mike Pompeo
3. Speaker of the House (if vacant) – Kevin McCarthy or any other in line of succession for that role
4. President Pro Tempore of the Senate (if vacant) – Patrick Leahy or any other in line of succession for that role
5. Secretary of Defense – Mark Esper
6. Secretary of the Treasury – Steve Mnuchin
7. Secretary of Agriculture – Sonny Perdue
8. Secretary of Commerce – Wilbur Ross
9. Secretary of Labor – Alex Acosta
10. Secretary of Health and Human Services – Alex Azar
11. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development – Ben Carson
12. Secretary of Transportation – Elaine Chao
13. Secretary of Energy – Rick Perry
14. Secretary of Education – Betsy DeVos
15. Secretary of Veterans Affairs – Robert Wilkie
16. Attorney General – William Barr
17. Secretary of Homeland Security – Kirstjen Nielsen
18. U.S. Trade Representative – Robert Lighthizer
19. Director of National Intelligence – Dan Coats
20. Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers – Kevin Hassett
21. Chief of Staff (White House) – Mick Mulvaney
22. Ambassador to the United Nations – Nikki Haley

Originally from Ohio, JD Vance previously delved into venture capitalism, but later gained notoriety by writing the critically acclaimed 2016 memoir “Hillbilly Elegy” and transitioning into politics.

In 2022, a Yale-educated attorney and former Marine won a seat in the U.S. Senate. After only a short time in office, he was chosen as Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate for the 2024 election.

In her role as Vice President, Vance serves not only as the next in command for the presidency but also has the power to cast a decisive vote if necessary, acting as a tie-breaker when Senate Republicans require one to pass bills.

He has been married to law school sweetheart Usha Vance since 2014 and they share three children.

Initially, Senator Marco Rubio from Florida was a vigorous critic of Trump during their presidential race in 2016. However, he has now transitioned into backing the policies that were once the target of his criticism directed towards Trump.

As a Miami native, born to Cuban parents who had immigrated, I was the unique individual selected by President Trump for his second cabinet, unanimously confirmed by the Senate with a bipartisan vote of 99-0. (Now, former Ohio Senator Vance holds the one-seat vacancy. At that time, I, Rubio, was still serving in the Senate and cast my own vote during the confirmation process.)

Rubio, as depicted alongside Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly, has been in marriage since 1998 with Jeanette Dousdebes, and together they are parents to two girls and two boys.

Scott Bessent boasts a 40-year career in international investment management, with stints as the CEO of hedge fund Key Square Capital Management and the Chief Investment Officer at George Soros’ Soros Fund Management.

Apart from that, he imparted knowledge about economic history at his former university, Yale, and, in conjunction with his family, set up the McLeod Rehabilitation Center within the Shriners Children’s Hospital in the state where he resides, South Carolina.

Based on his official biography, he and his partner reside part-time in both Washington D.C. and Charleston, SC, sharing their time between these two locations with their two children.

In a specific geographical area and economic stratum, being gay was not a problematic matter, as he stated in the Yale Alumni Magazine in 2015, prior to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that made same-sex marriage legal across the nation. What’s remarkable is that now, individuals throughout America, regardless of their socioeconomic status, have equal access to opportunities. If you had told me back in 1984, during our graduation and the height of the AIDS crisis, that in thirty years I would be legally married with two children conceived through surrogacy, I wouldn’t have imagined it possible.

Pete Hegseth, a former Army National Guard veteran, had been hosting Fox News’ weekend show, “Fox & Friends Weekend,” since 2017. However, his tenure as co-host was interrupted when President Trump appointed him as the Defense Secretary.

In the face of contentious comments about diversity and female service members, a 2017 sexual assault accusation (which he has strongly refuted), claims of job-related drinking (also contested) and an email from his mother in 2018 that she later disavowed, labeling him as a woman abuser, there were concerns about derailing his nomination. However, he was confirmed by the Senate, albeit narrowly, with no votes from Democrats and three Republicans dissenting.

Eric Hegseth is married to Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth, his third wife, and they share a daughter together. Previously, he was married to Samatha Deering with whom he has three children. The couple tied the knot at Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, NJ, in 2019.

Following Matt Gaetz’s decision to step back from contention due to past scandals, the president-elect ultimately chose Pam Bondi, a former Florida Attorney General and one of his legal representatives during the initial impeachment trial, to head the United States Department of Justice instead.

For eighteen years, she worked as a prosecutor within the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. Subsequently, in 2011, she made history by becoming Florida’s first female attorney general. Toward the end of her term, she temporarily co-hosted the Fox News show called “The Five” for three days in 2018, which raised some concerns about the ethics of such an engagement while still holding a public office position.

As a lifestyle expert, I frequently find myself in the spotlight, with appearances on national news channels. It’s important to clarify that these spots aren’t compensated; instead, they’re a testament to my passion for sharing insights. The Attorney General I’m referring to is an unwavering worker bee, always accessible, even outside regular office hours and across state lines.

Since the year 2017, Bondi has been in a romantic connection with John Wakefield, who is the founding principal of Varner Wakefield Equity Partners. He has three children from a prior relationship.

Since 2017, Bondi has been romantically involved with John Wakefield, who founded Varner Wakefield Equity Partners. He is the father of three children from a previous relationship.

2024 presidential prospect and former supporter of Donald Trump, wealthy software tycoon and investor Doug Burgum, served as North Dakota’s governor from 2017 before being appointed to lead the Department of Interior, a role that involves overseeing approximately 480 million acres of federal land, striking a balance between resource extraction and preservation.

Born and raised in the small town of Arthur, North Dakota, with a population of just 325, Burgum later studied at North Dakota State University. He also established a chimney sweeping company, which he believes played a significant role in his acceptance to Stanford Business School.

In 2017, during an interview with Forbes, he shared that his college newspaper published an article about him, depicting me as a chimney sweep, and included a picture of me perched atop a frosty chimney in bitterly cold Fargo weather. This story was picked up by the Associated Press wire service, causing quite a commotion within the Stanford admissions office later on.

Burgum is the father of three kids, who he shares custody with his former spouse Karen Stoker. Since 2016, Burgum has been happily married to Kathryn Helgaas.

Originally hailing from Glen Rose, Texas, Brooke Rollins obtained a bachelor’s degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University. Later, she pursued and completed her Juris Doctor (JD) at the University of Texas School of Law.

In the White House during Trump’s initial term, her role encompassed serving as Director of the Domestic Policy Council and Assistant to the President for Strategic Planning.

Prior to her appointment as head of the Department of Agriculture, Rollins served as both CEO and president of the America First Policy Institute – a research organization she established in 2021 with the mission of advancing Donald Trump’s political platform.

Based on her official biography, she and her husband Mark Rollins predominantly fill their leisure moments in Fort Worth by shuttling their energetic quartet of kids to various activities such as baseball matches, livestock exhibitions, piano classes, and Texas A&M football events.

Prior to serving in Trump’s administration, Howard Lutnick held positions as both CEO and president at the financial services company, Cantor Fitzgerald. He climbed his way up the ladder starting from an entry-level broker position he took on in 1983.

Based in New York City, this well-known company tragically suffered the loss of 658 employees on September 11, 2001, as a result of one of four hijacked airplanes crashing into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

For 35 consecutive days in 2006, Lutnick attended twenty funeral services a day, due to the fact that his brother Gary was among the deceased. This unfortunate circumstance meant that there were occasions when he couldn’t even attend the funerals of his closest friends. On one particularly difficult day, both his best friend’s brother and his college roommate’s brother were being laid to rest simultaneously. As a result, his wife went to one funeral while he attended the other.

Inquired about his progress, he responded, “I’d liken it to riding a surfboard on a massive wave. If you ever glanced behind, the wave could easily overtake you, and I might not be able to keep going.

Lutnick has four children with wife Allison Lambert.

Lori Chavez-DeRemer held the position of mayor in Happy Valley, Oregon from 2011 until 2019. Later in 2022, she made history as the first Republican woman to win a congressional seat in her state.

Despite not being re-elected, the Californian native, who is also a pro-union daughter of a Mexican-American Teamster father, now has an opportunity to serve in President Trump’s second term cabinet.

Chavez-DeRemer is the mother of twin daughters and is married to her high school sweetheart, Dr. Shawn DeRemer. In 2024, they will celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary. On this occasion, she posted on Instagram, “The years pass quickly because we’re devoted to a ‘remarkable love’ that is consistently worth defending.

In less than two weeks following her confirmation as Labor Secretary on March 11, 2025, the DeRemers welcomed their first grandchild.

In a surprising move, longtime Democratic figure, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., endorsed Donald Trump, as his own presidential bid in 2024 appeared to lose momentum.

As the third child of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy and an environmental lawyer, I’ve recently become more recognized for my concerns regarding the safety of vaccinations and psychotropic medications, which has sometimes led to disagreements within my family.

Instead of saying:

While sister Kerry Kennedy criticized his attempt to dishonor their father’s memory by endorsing Trump, cousin Caroline Kennedy labeled him a “predator” in a January 2025 open letter advocating against the Senate confirming him as HHS secretary.

Kerry Kennedy, the sister, criticized his actions of disrespecting their father’s memory by endorsing Trump. On the other hand, Caroline Kennedy, the cousin, wrote a public letter in January 2025 to warn the Senate against confirming him as HHS secretary, calling him a “predator.”

Or:

In opposition to Kerry Kennedy, who criticized his actions of disrespecting their father’s memory by endorsing Trump, Caroline Kennedy, the cousin, penned an open letter in January 2025 urging the Senate not to confirm him as HHS secretary, labeling him a “predator.”

Or:

Kerry Kennedy, the sister, expressed her disapproval of his actions to dishonor their father’s memory by endorsing Trump. Meanwhile, Caroline Kennedy, the cousin, wrote an open letter in January 2025 to the Senate, urging them not to confirm him as HHS secretary and calling him a “predator.

In terms of his personal life, Kennedy is a father to six children: Two from his first marriage with Emily Black, and four with his late second wife Mary Richardson, who tragically took her own life in 2012. Since 2014, he has been married to actress Cheryl Hines, best known for her role in Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Previously, Scott Turner, a former NFL player, served as the representative for Texas’ 33rd congressional district from 2013 to 2017. Later in 2019, he was appointed as the director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council by President Trump.

He shared during an NFL Player Engagement interview in 2016 that his parents and godparents had always encouraged him to help others. They instilled in him the importance of caring for others, putting in effort, and maintaining strong faith…It’s not a simple task, but one must decide to take it on.

Apart from being an entrepreneur and a Baptist pastor, he has been married to his University of Illinois classmate Robin Turner since 1995. In the year 2009, the duo adopted Scott’s nephew Solomon, who used to play football at Baylor and Hawaii before joining Illinois as a walk-on player.

In his conversation with Saturday Tradition in 2022, Solomon expressed, “Without my uncle and aunt, I’m unsure where I would find myself today.” He further added, “The fact that he has served as my mentor means the world to me. Moreover, being here and achieving this, it feels like I’m expressing my gratitude to him by paying him back in some way.

Sean Duffy first made a name for himself in 1997 as a housemate on The Real World: Boston.

He has nine children with Rachel Campos-Duffy, his wife who he met while participating in Road Rules: All Stars in 1998 and later got married to in the year that followed.

For eight years, Duffy served as the District Attorney for Ashland County, his home state of Wisconsin. From 2011 to 2019, he represented the people in Congress. In August of that year, he stepped down from office due to the health concerns of his soon-to-be ninth child.

He clarified on Fox & Friends that if a baby is born, she might require open-heart surgery within two to six months after birth. To put it simply, they would need to perform an operation to open her chest and repair her heart.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d express it like this: “In my world, politics holds a special place, but nothing compares to the love I have for my family. It’s all about finding that delicate balance. My schedule is relentless, spending four days in Washington D.C., and then I’m back with Rachel. Navigating through my district, meeting the people, we take our share of knocks as members of Congress, often becoming the target for criticism.

In “The Real World”, he shared that living with individuals unlike himself was obligatory, as he conveyed to NCTA in May 2019. Initially, upon arrival, he observed the significant contrasts between him and his roommates. However, upon departing, he discovered that he had a greater number of commonalities with them than he initially thought.

He likened the situation to negotiating across party lines in Congress: “It’s astonishing how much collaborative work you can accomplish, and how many common ground points there truly are.

The self-proclaimed energy enthusiast, Chris Wright, serves as the founder of Pinnacle Technologies. As per his biography from the Energy Department, this company is recognized for having pioneered the field of hydraulic fracturing mapping, more commonly known as fracking.

Prior to being nominated for his cabinet position, he had previously held the role of CEO at Liberty Energy, a significant fracking firm ranked as the second-largest in the U.S.

Wright was a dedicated father, grandfather, skier, biker, mountain-climber, and lover of the outdoors, as stated in his bio. Alongside his partner, Liz Wright, they previously resided in Colorado but later moved to Washington D.C.

Linda McMahon, who was previously known as Edwards, tied the knot with her husband Vince McMahon in 1966 when she was 17 and he was 21. Following her graduation from high school, she went on to pursue a career as a French teacher but instead chose to jointly manage the family enterprise, World Wrestling Entertainment, from 1980 until 2009.

During Donald Trump’s initial term from 2017 to 2019, Linda McMahon held the position of Administrator for the Small Business Administration. In 2024, after being re-elected, McMahon, a grandmother of six, served as co-chair of his transition team and was chosen to lead the U.S. Department of Education—an institution that Trump aims to reform significantly.

McMahon expressed his strong support for the president’s initiative aimed at devolving education back to the states. He shares the president’s viewpoint that the most effective education occurs when it’s tailored closest to each individual child.

In November 2024, McMahon’s lawyer confirmed that McMahon, a former WWE executive, and her husband were separated while they were still legally married, as reported by the Washington Post. Notably, their son Shane McMahon and daughter Stephanie McMahon are both ex-professional wrestlers, and Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who is Shane’s brother-in-law, serves as the chief content officer at WWE.

Colonel Doug Collins, of the U.S. Air Force Reserve, has a legal background, served as a representative in the Georgia State House, a member of Congress, and also functioned as a military chaplain.

However, based on his Veterans Affairs (VA) profile, he primarily identifies as a husband to Lisa, a father to Jordan, and the father of Copelan and Cameron.

Since 2019, Kristi Noem has served as the Governor of South Dakota. Speculations arose suggesting her potential running mate for Trump in 2024; however, these speculations ended when she revealed an incident about shooting her family’s misbehaving dog in her memoir titled “No Going Back.

Ignoring the stir, I found myself wholeheartedly endorsing Trump’s decision to appoint none other than Kristi Noem, a former Congresswoman who served our nation from 2011 to 2019 on the House Armed Services Committee. This dedicated woman has been chosen to lead the Department of Homeland Security, a role that safeguards our beloved United States from both internal and external perils. As an ardent fan, I can’t help but feel a surge of pride and confidence in her abilities.

In 1992, the former South Dakota Snow Queen exchanged vows with Byron Noem, and together they have raised three children.
