Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley will be freed from prison soon.
As a dedicated follower, I’m excited to share that I learned directly from a White House insider that President Donald Trump is planning to sign pardon papers for the Chrisley Knows Best couple, who were involved in a tax fraud case, within the next 24 hours – before the end of day on May 28.
The official acknowledges that he is acquainted with Savannah Chrisley, the 27-year-old daughter of the couple, who made a speech at the Republican National Convention in July. However, he has not had the opportunity to meet either Todd or Julie personally.
Alice Marie Johnson, an advocate for criminal justice reform who was granted clemency by President Trump in 2018 following a public push for her release from Kim Kardashian, recently presented the Chrisley family’s case to the President, as stated by a White House official.
Trump conveyed to Savannah during their May 27 conversation, as shared in a video posted by Margo Martin (formerly of Twitter, now known as X), that he doesn’t personally know them, but he wishes them well. He mentioned that from what he’s been informed, they have faced rather severe treatment.
He added, “I hear they’re terrific people. This should not have happened.”
In June 2022, Todd (age 56) and Julie (age 52) were convicted for their involvement in wire fraud, attempting to defraud banks, and deceiving the U.S. government. They started serving their sentences in prison in January 2023.
In September 2023, the length of Todd’s sentence was shortened to 10 years, whereas Julie’s conviction was reversed by an appeals court in June 2024.
Previously, Savannah disclosed that she’s been endeavoring to obtain a pardon for her parents, who have consistently claimed their innocence regarding the case.
She assured People magazine in February that she was following the correct procedures and would strive to raise as much attention as she could to the issue because such incidents are unacceptable.

In August 2019, a federal grand jury in Atlanta indicted Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley on 12 charges, which included wire fraud, conspiring to commit bank fraud, and defrauding the United States. As reported by NBC News, the prosecution alleged that the fraudulent activities began in the mid-2000s and encompassed several acts such as evading approximately $2 million in state taxes from 2008 to 2016, and hiding more than a million dollars from the Internal Revenue Service.
On the day prior to the issuance of the indictment, Todd asserted that he and his spouse were not guilty, and instead pointed the finger at a trusted staff member who was accused of embezzling funds and extorting them.
In his Instagram post, he asserted, “We have no secrets and there’s nothing for us to be embarrassed about. In fact, not only are we certain we haven’t done anything wrong, but we also possess a substantial amount of solid evidence and numerous supporting witnesses who can vouch for our innocence.
Three years after the fact, it wasn’t until then that the stars of “Chrisley Knows Best” stood trial. Over a span of three weeks, various testimonies were heard, and despite pleading not guilty, they were found guilty on all charges related to tax evasion and bank fraud on June 7, 2022.
Over a ten-year period, the pair, along with their accountant Peter Tarantino, were accused by the U.S. attorney’s office of collaborating in a scheme to deceive banks and steal over $30 million from them. Peter Tarantino was tried alongside them for this offense.
In Keri Farley’s June 2022 statement as Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta, she emphasized that regardless of one’s reputation, wealth, or status, dishonesty in the form of lying, cheating, and stealing will not evade justice. She added that this recent verdict of guilty on all counts for these three defendants underscores the fact that engaging in financial crimes ultimately results in failure.
After a five-month delay, the Northern District of Georgia handed down a sentence for Todd – 12 years in prison. The same court also sentenced Julie to seven years in prison (while Peter received a three-year sentence).
For approximately ten years, the accused individuals swindled banks out of many millions of dollars through fraudulent activities. At the same time, they failed to pay their federal income taxes. In a statement issued in November 2022, U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan emphasized that their substantial prison sentences highlight the severity of their criminal plot and should act as a deterrent for anyone considering misusing our nation’s banking system for illegal personal enrichment.
In September 2023, the release dates for both Julie and Todd were moved up: Julie is now due for release a year and three months ahead of schedule, while Todd will be released two years early from his originally planned 2035 release date.
Jay Surgent, the attorneys for Todd and Julie, expressed in September 2023 that they are exemplary inmates serving unusually long sentences. He stated, “As far as I’m concerned, Todd is serving a 10-year term and Julie has been reduced to five years.
As a lifestyle advisor, I find myself sharing an unfortunate update: In January 2023, a significant chapter of my life began as I embarked on separate imprisonment terms. I am currently serving my sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Pensacola in Florida, while my partner, Julie, is serving hers at a different federal correctional facility in Lexington, Kentucky.
Six months following the incarceration of Julie and Todd, Savannah Chrisley provided an update on their well-being, disclosing that they had no communication with each other while serving their sentences in separate prisons.
195 days passed since our last conversation, she shared on her Instagram story in August 2023. My heart aches… I implore you for fairness and justice!
She also pushed back at rumors about their time in prison.
She found it amusing since one remarked, ‘He’s let himself go,’ as they spoke on the Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast. However, she pointed out that hair dye isn’t available in prisons, hence his gray hair. If given the chance today, she would tell him not to change it because she thinks he looks good sporting that prison-barbered style.
Instead, Todd voiced his concerns about the treatment he received at the federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, even though he was confined within bars.
In a phone conversation during the December 2023 broadcast of Cuomo, he stated that the food was not fresh. Specifically, it had surpassed its expiration date by a full year.
He went on to say, “You’ve got rodents – rats and squirrels – in the storage area where the food is kept. They managed to seal it off with plastic sheets but then tore open the ceiling due to mold growth, revealing a deceased cat that had been trapped there. Unfortunately, this decaying animal fell onto the food.
Apart from the atrocities happening in the cafeteria, he claimed that an individual additionally tried to blackmail his loved ones.
He mentioned that there had been a picture taken of him as he slept, which was then sent to his daughter. He requested $2,600 per month in the message, stating it was for his protection.
Savannah, currently responsible for her younger siblings Grayson and Chloe due to her parents’ incarceration, shared that the consequences of their criminal records and limited communication between them have been a heavy burden for her.
She revealed to TopMob News in March 2024 that their last conversation was the morning he entered federal prison. She claimed that her father is experiencing a great deal of reprisal due to our vocal criticisms regarding prison conditions.
Indeed, she claimed that the prison authorities were hindering much of his email communication with her mother.
Instead of focusing on herself, she acknowledged that the situation could sometimes be overpowering for her.
Savannah expressed on her podcast, Unlocked in April 2024, that it’s hard for her to grasp the idea that Mom and Dad seem to be left behind by life. In a similar sense, she often feels this way about people in her own life as if they just carry on with their lives without giving much thought to those who are left behind.
She went on saying, “I’m finding it hard to breathe normally, as I juggle the financial burdens of raising children and managing my personal life, including a relationship.
In June 2024, Julie’s seven-year prison sentence was reversed due to an error in sentencing during her 2022 trial by a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. While the panel confirmed her convictions, they determined that the initial judge had incorrectly calculated Julie’s prison term.
In their decision, the judges mentioned that the district court failed to specify the evidence used against Julie regarding losses before 2007, making it impossible for them to locate it in the records. As a result, they decided to overturn Julie’s sentence and send the case back to the district court, allowing them to establish the relevant facts, calculate damages, restitution, and forfeiture for Julie, and then re-sentence her accordingly.
The decision regarding the modification of her sentence was passed on to a lower court, whereas Todd’s sentence remained unchanged.
After three months, the court in Atlanta affirmed my initial seven-year prison sentence that had been previously overturned. I humbly offered a heartfelt apology – both to my beloved children and the court – for any pain or inconvenience caused during this ordeal.
In the courtroom on September 25th, as reported by People, I stood before you all and shared a sentiment that I’ve held close for quite some time. I want to express my regret for the choices and circumstances that have brought us to this point in our journey. Over the past 20 months, I’ve been incarcerated, but the realization of my mistakes has been a long-standing process leading up to the trial. I sincerely apologize for the actions that led us here today.
She’s made every possible effort to reconnect with her family. She’s even learned new abilities like operating a forklift and serving food properly. She admitted it’s been the hardest phase of her life. She’ll never be able to fully compensate her children for their struggles, and for that, she deeply regrets.
