Turn Blade Into a Midnight Sons Movie Already

As a longtime Marvel fan who’s witnessed the rollercoaster ride that is the Blade reboot, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation tinged with a dash of skepticism. The character’s life has been as tumultuous as the production process, and if there’s one thing we know about Blade, it’s that he never backs down from a challenge.

The character of Blade has certainly seen his fair share of turmoil, and this is equally applicable to the process of rebooting the film for Marvel Studios. The movie has faced numerous postponements and undergone several script revisions, with Marvel’s Kevin Feige acknowledging that he feels more optimistic about the latest draft. As we move closer to the 2025 release date, there’s growing hope that the project might indeed avoid any delays. With this in mind, it’s an intriguing thought to transform the film into a horror-influenced team-up. Could The Midnight Sons be on the horizon?

As a lifelong comic book enthusiast, I can’t help but be thrilled at the prospect of seeing some of my favorite characters from the darker corners of Marvel Comics come to life on the big screen. Having grown up reading titles like Moon Knight and Man-Thing, I’ve always been drawn to their complex narratives and rich, troubled protagonists.

During a panel at Middle East Film and Comic Con earlier this year, Isaac expressed his enthusiasm about the intriguing prospect of Midnight Son: “The characters in it are so captivating, and now that we’ve established their individual identities – Marc, Steven, Jake – it could be thrilling to imagine him as a team member. I’m eagerly anticipating the chance to delve into how such a team dynamic might play out. I believe it would be an exciting journey, one I really hope has potential for further exploration.”

It’s worth noting that Marvel changed the team’s name from Midnight Suns back to its original spelling, Midnight Sons, which lines up with the release of the video game. This could potentially suggest that Marvel Studios has some influence over comic book publishing as well.

What’s Wesley Snipes think of Marvel’s Blade reboot?

As a dedicated gamer, I’d say it like this: “Regardless of how Marvel Studios moves forward with the iconic Blade character, original star Wesley Snipes has given his approval for Mahershala Ali to continue the legacy of the role.”

I enthusiastically cheered him on, assuring him he has all my well-wishes and backing, I shared with Entertainment Weekly this week. I even mentioned that some of the hurdles they’re encountering with the project shouldn’t be laid at his feet… It’s not the actor’s fault. There’s a multitude of factors involved in bringing Blade to life… You need a special blend of ingredients to do the Blade thing, buddy. Break a leg. You’re my pick for the job!

Blade is currently set to hit theaters on November 7, 2025.
