Twisted Metal Season 2 Gets a Release Date & First Look

Buckle up, gaming buddies! I’ve got some hot news to share – Peacock just spilled the beans about the release date for the second season of Twisted Metal, a fan-favorite from the classic PlayStation series, and it’s coming our way sooner than you might think.

The show featuring Captain America’s portrayer, Anthony Mackie, along with Stephanie Beatriz from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” recently shared a brief and amusing video clip. In this video, they engage in a playful argument regarding the length of the hangar door where the new character Calypso, played by Anthony Carrigan known for his role as Superman, is hidden, as well as the official release date which is set for July 31st.

As a gamer, I got a sneak peek at the upcoming season of Twisted Metal, and let me tell you, it’s shaping up to be a wild ride! The clip showcases some intense car explosions, heart-pounding action sequences, and, of course, everyone’s favorite killer clown racer, Sweet Tooth. Voiced by none other than Will Arnett from Arrested Development, and brought to life by AEW’s Samoa Joe, this guy is a force to be reckoned with!

If you were one of the many who tuned in for the first season, then buckle up because season two looks set to deliver even more action, possibly even surpassing its predecessor. With an expanded cast and the tantalizing prospect of higher stakes in a deadly tournament, Twisted Metal is revving up to be the ultimate street outlaw!

The official synopsis of Twisted Metal Season Two goes as follows:

After the events in the season finale, John and Quiet venture into the lethal Twisted Metal tournament, a destructive derby controlled by an enigmatic figure named Calypso. In their quest to endure attacks from fresh threats and familiar adversaries such as the homicidal clown Sweet Tooth, matters become complex for John when he reconnects with his estranged sister, the vigilante Dollface.

Back in the late 90s and the early 2000s, nothing beat vehicular combat quite like Twisted Metal. This was an exclusive franchise to PlayStation, with numerous games released in the series, though the last new one came out in 2012. There were rumors of a live-service game, but it never materialized. Apart from a show on Peacock, the series has been dormant. However, given Twisted Metal’s recent surge in popularity, it might not be long before Sweet Tooth revs up for action on PlayStation 5, ready to wreak havoc.
