Twitter Is Down After Suffering Several Outages

It seems that people cannot access Twitter (formerly known as X) on either their mobile app or website. On Monday, March 10th, there was a problem with the Twitter app, causing users to receive the “This site can’t be reached” message when trying to open the homepage. This is the second outage that Twitter has experienced today. After some time of instability, Twitter now appears to be functioning again, and users are able to log in safely to the application and access the homepage.

At present, X/Twitter hasn’t addressed the ongoing outage. Their last post on the main account showcases their AI chatbot, Grok. Recently, there was a commotion surrounding Grok as X implemented a default setting that collects user data to enhance the chatbot’s learning — without previously informing users about this change.

After its appearance in the user settings, the Safety team at X account announced: “We’ve given our users the power to decide if their public posts can be employed to teach Grok, our AI search assistant. This new feature complements your current controls regarding whether your interactions, inputs, and results involving Grok can be used. This adjustable setting is currently accessible on our web platform and will soon become available on mobile devices as well. This privacy option can be found under the same Privacy settings that every X user has access to, making it conveniently reachable with just a few clicks.

Following Elon Musk’s acquisition, platform X has experienced several transformations, one of which involves changing its name from Twitter to X. A more recent adjustment includes the concealment of public likes, implying that users will no longer be able to view who appreciates each other’s posts (or tweets). Although like counts remain visible and the original poster can still see who liked their post, the general public is now unable to click on a post to see who has liked it. The company justifies this move as an effort to “enhance privacy protection.
