With over ten main games, numerous spin-offs, novels, a movie adaptation (and another one in the pipeline), there’s been no dearth of terrifying entertainment suitable for all ages. As Steel Wool Studios prepares to unveil the prequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s titled “Secret of the Mimic”, rumors are circulating that two more FNAF games are in active development.
For quite some time now, the intricate narratives of FNAF have unfolded, with each new installment adding layers to the enigma surrounding the haunted animatronics that dwell in the abandoned corridors and chambers within their universe. The upcoming game promises to delve into the origin tale of the Mimic, the primary adversary in the Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach RUIN expansion pack as well as the Tales from the Pizzaplex series.
As a dedicated fan myself, I’m thrilled to share some exciting rumors that have been circulating. Known leaker DanielRPK, a figure well-respected within the entertainment industry, claims that not one, but two new Five Nights at Freddy’s games are in development!
It’s important to note that this isn’t about the already announced titles like Secret of the Mimic and the kart racing spin-off Five Laps at Freddy’s, as those have been officially confirmed by the studios.
However, with a pinch of salt in hand, these whispers add fuel to the fire of anticipation for more Five Nights at Freddy’s games. Given the dedicated fanbase and the series’ continued success in media, it wouldn’t be surprising if these rumors proved true. Here’s to hoping we get more FNAF action soon!
If we’re going to make an educated guess about the upcoming FNAF installments, it seems reasonable to assume they might be rooted in the tale from “Secret of the Mimic“. Since the scale, whether they are DLC or spin-offs, wasn’t clarified, we can’t predict that yet. With Steel Wool Studios handling the next installment, it could be intriguing to speculate that these projects might be developed by new or returning studios like Mega Cat Studios or Clickteam. However, when more details about these titles will be disclosed is yet uncertain.
It’s not surprising that Five Nights at Freddy’s continues to terrify millions worldwide, given its persistent impact in the entertainment industry. An unplanned Roblox game called Survival Crew related to the franchise was accidentally launched in December 2023, but there’s been no update on its development status so far. This year, Dead by Daylight will introduce the FNAF universe into their survival world, although it has been delayed from an earlier release until late 2025. Moreover, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on December 5th and will see Emma Tammi back as director along with Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard.
