Two of AEW’s Biggest Stars Will Finally Collide at All In

As a die-hard movie fan, I can’t help but draw parallels between the electrifying world of professional wrestling and the silver screen. And just like the climactic scene in a much-anticipated blockbuster, AEW kicked off Double or Nothing with a match that had all of us on the edge of our seats. This wasn’t just any match; it was the finale of this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, pitting The CEO Mercedes Mone against the formidable Jamie Hayter.

The battle lived up to every expectation, delivering pulse-pounding moments that left us breathless. In the end, it was Mercedes Mone who stood victorious, not only claiming the Women’s Tournament trophy but also earning the right to challenge the current AEW Women’s World Champion, Timeless Toni Storm, at All In. This highly anticipated match has been a dream for fans ever since Mone joined AEW, and I can hardly wait to see it unfold!

Throughout the match, Hayter demonstrated why she was once the Women’s World Champion by capitalizing on various opportunities, forcing Mone to pay dearly for any minor mistakes. Her powerful moves were spot-on, delivering hard-hitting suplexes, slams, and lariats that gradually wore down the Champion. In response, Mone retaliated with her own aggressive attacks, inflicting painful knee strikes and backstabbers, a strategy she would persistently employ throughout the match.

Mona aimed at disrupting Hayter’s strength by targeting her back. She executed a sequence of three consecutive backdrops, intending to tire her out. Following this, she swiftly moved into the Mone Maker position. In the ensuing exchange, Mona countered one of Hayter’s powerbomb attempts with a meteora. Despite taking significant damage to her back, Hayter managed to get her shoulder up in time, keeping the match ongoing.

Initially, it seemed like Hayter had control over Mone, knocking down the Champion with a powerful throw and following up with a fierce Lariat. However, Mone refused to concede defeat. In response to Hayter’s move known as the ‘Hayterade’, Mone countered, brutally slamming Hayter back to the mat, securing the pin and the victory. This triumph propelled Mone forward in her pursuit of the Title, causing her to rejoice in celebration.

Following her victory, Mone will face Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In – a match that fans have eagerly anticipated for some time. Storm has been shining since her Timeless comeback, and although she lost one of her numerous titles, Mone remains one of the most decorated performers in the company. This highly-anticipated showdown will take place on AEW’s grandest stage in Texas, making it one of the most significant matches for both stars this year.
