As a passionate moviegoer reviewing WWE’s latest instalment, I must say that the qualifying rounds for the Money in the Bank ladder match on SmackDown were just the appetizer to an action-packed main event. The curtain raiser featured none other than Penta, Chad Gable of American Made, and Dragon Lee from LWO.
Fast forward into the night, we had the second qualifying bout between Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Sami Zayn. As the dust settled, two more fan-favorites secured their spots in this high-stakes match. The inclusion of these superstars has transformed the Men’s Money in the Bank match from a promising spectacle to an absolute must-see event, adding layers of intrigue that were non-existent at the beginning of the week.
Penta vs. Chad Gable vs. Dragon Lee
Initially, both Lee and Penta targeted Gable, but momentarily turned their focus on each other for a brief standoff. Following this, they ejected Gable from the ring, effectively ending their alliance and initiating a one-on-one confrontation between them.
In a swift sequence of events, Lee executed an impressive offensive move, knocking Penta down and positioning him for a powerful head kick. However, Gable intervened quickly, halting Lee’s momentum and attempting to take advantage of the situation. Unfortunately for Gable, his actions backfired when he was forcefully thrown to the mat by Penta and struck with a superkick. Penta then managed to keep Lee at a distance and delivered a powerful move that sent both Gable and himself out of the ring.
After the break, Lee made a dynamic entrance, leaping through the ropes to the exterior where he knocked over Penta and soared over the announce table. Gable managed to get Penta back into the ring, and they began exchanging chop blows. The scene then escalated as superkicks were thrown left and right, culminating in a pin attempt by Lee.
Afterward, Gable executed a massive suplex on both Penta and Lee. Subsequently, Gable climbed to the top rope and performed a moonsault, but Penta managed to kick out. Next, Gable hurled a charging Lee into the corner. At this moment, El Hijo del Vikingo intervened, kicking Gable off the top rope and swiftly retreating towards the crowd. Seizing the opportunity, Penta struck Gable with his finisher, securing the victory. Consequently, Penta will now compete alongside Solo Sikoa and LA Knight in the men’s match.
Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn
Initially, I took the lead, setting the pace in our encounter. Later on, Balor displayed a swift offensive, only for Rollins to re-enter the ring and ignite a back-and-forth battle. For a spell, it was just Balor and Rollins squaring off, and remarkably, Balor managed to fell both of us with a powerful DDT. Regrettably, neither fall seemed to hold firm.
Following the intermission, Zayn resumed his offensive, driving Balor into the mat and unleashing a flurry of blows against Rollins. Zayn subsequently knocked both Balor and Rollins to the ground moments later. After managing to keep them at a distance once more, he sent them crashing down with a spectacular springboard moonsault. Rollins attempted to regain the upper hand by executing a Falcon Arrow on Zayn, but it wasn’t sufficient. In response, Rollins hoisted Zayn onto the top rope, only to be met with a devastating Sunset Flip PowerBomb and a pin attempt. However, Balor intervened before Zayn could secure the victory by executing a cover.

In the ring again, all three were exchanging maneuvers, with Zayn interrupting Balor’s attempt at a Coup De Grâce. He followed it up with a superplex, only to be flattened by a frog splash from Rollins, leaving everyone dazed. Post-commercial break, Rollins persuaded Balor to join forces against Zayn, but Zayn successfully defended himself against both. Balor almost secured the victory, but any partnership between Rollins and Balor disintegrated when Rollins prevented the win at the last moment.

In their latest encounter, Balor and Rollins engaged in another intense bout. However, Zayn managed to prevent a pin on Balor, followed by evading a pin from Rollins himself. He avoided a curb stomp, retaliated with a Blue Thunder Bomb on Rollins, but it wasn’t quite enough for the victory. With Rollins down, it appeared as though Zayn had secured the win, but Balor intervened with a Sling Blade and then dropkicked Zayn into Rollins. Balor attempted a leap from the top rope but missed the Coup De Grâce. In an unexpected turn of events, Zayn executed the Helluva Kick on Rollins, coming close to securing the win. However, Bron Breakker intervened by pulling Rollins out of the ring, and Jey Uso got involved as well, with Bronson Reed joining the fray.
Rollins received a punch from Uso, followed by Reed knocking out Zayn. Dominik Mysterio rushed in, placing a chair near Balor. However, the referee spotted this and prevented the action. Later, Rollins used a move called a curb-stomp to push Balor onto the same chair. This led to the pin, making Rollins eligible for the Money in the Bank match, joining Penta, Sikoa, and Knight.
After that, Rollins ordered Reed and Breakker to eliminate everyone near the ring. As CM Punk’s music played, they headed towards him at the entrance. However, Punk was already inside the ring and surprised Rollins with a GTS before escaping to the audience and celebrating among the spectators.
