Tyla Shines at Met Gala 2025: Glamorous Look Stuns Red Carpet

Tyla‘s 2025 Met Gala ensemble is guaranteed to top the charts.

On May 5, the artist famed for “Water” attended the annual fashion spectacle in New York City, and undeniably, her stunning appearance grabbed everyone’s attention as she gracefully walked along the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. At the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” charity event, Tyla made quite an impression with her outfit, which included a white pinstripe dress that was off-the-shoulder and had a long train. To complete her stunning appearance, the 23-year-old styled her hair in a graceful curly updo.

And as for the beauty? Makeup artist Pat McGrath broke down the inspo.

In her statement, she explained that the makeup for Tyla was inspired by the classic Hollywood glamour of icons such as Josephine Baker, Dorothy Dandridge, and Jean Harlow, but with a contemporary flair. The focus was on creating a seductive smoky eye using warm nudes and deep browns from the Mothership I and XII palettes.

Pat commented, “We additionally shaped it brow-wise, arching, softening, and subtly defining it to mirror a fresh, contemporary take on Hollywood style.

Tyla hasn’t been a stranger to making a stunning entrance at the Met Gala. Last year, for instance, the “PUSH 2 START” artist truly elevated the “Garden of Time” theme when she had to be carefully extracted from her intricately designed, hourglass-shaped dress as she walked the red carpet.

Apart from one method, she played around with the design of the timepiece theme in her attire as well. During the occasion, Tyla mentioned that she and designer Balmain aimed for the fabric to resemble the sand within a traditional hourglass.

Tyla clarified on Live From TopMob: Met Gala that it was essentially sand since they aimed to represent the “sands of time,” aligning with the event’s chosen theme.

Her attendance at the 2024 fashion’s grand event suggests she is ready to give it her all once more. Given that she admitted her stunning hourglass appearance required a considerable amount of time to perfect on that particular day, it is clear she intends to make an impact this time too.

“I’ve been up,” she joked to Live From TopMob at the time. “Just know I’ve been up.”

For Tyla, her music success has broadened her horizons when it comes to style, leading her to take on more daring choices.

In a recent interview with Fashionista, the singer expressed that they have consistently enjoyed what they’ve been fond of, yet the increased accessibility to various items has allowed them to explore more. They added that their style has always leaned towards clothing that appears less polished and includes an element of disorder or surprise.
