U.S. Bank Exec Dies in Minnesota Plane Crash, Pilot Terry Dolan Confirmed Dead

U.S. Bank is mourning one of its esteemed executives.

Two days following an incident where Terry Dolan was thought to be connected to a plane crash in Minnesota, specifically a small aircraft that collided with a house in Brooklyn Park, it has been officially verified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner that the vice chair had passed away. He was 63 years old.

In a statement made on the 1st of April, officials confirmed that Dolan was the person who tragically met his end in an aircraft accident. The medical examiner reported he died due to severe trauma caused by the impact.

On the fateful day of the unfortunate accident, Brooklyn Fire Chief Shawn Conway reported sadly that no one had survived the collision. However, the exact number of individuals on board the SOCATA TBM7 at the moment, as well as their identities, remained unclear.

It’s worth noting that, based on records from the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office, the small aircraft was registered under one of Dolan’s companies.

In my account, when I unfortunately collided with the residence of Kenneth Tobacman and his wife Mary Butler, my small aircraft sparked an enormous blaze. Thankfully, they managed to evacuate their home safely, and since then, they’ve bravely shared their harrowing ordeal with us.

Suddenly, there was a loud explosion,” Kenneth recounted on the March 31 episode of Good Morning America. “The lights flickered off, and I saw a bright flash followed by sparks or perhaps some smoke. My initial thought was, ‘What on earth is happening?’

Meanwhile, Mary had just stepped out to take their dog for a walk.

He went on to say, ‘Hadn’t she been there, I believe I wouldn’t have managed to save her and the dog.’ It transpired so swiftly. It’s incredibly lucky that she was outside when the plane crashed.

Alongside the people living in the house struck by the plane crash, their neighbor, Sean Riddler, also had a front-row seat to the dreadful occurrence.

On the program, Sean stated that he reached the house approximately 30 seconds after the impact. By then, the house was already ablaze. Within 30 to 45 seconds, the entire structure was fully consumed by the fire.

The National Transportation Safety Board is currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the plane crash, with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration. This was stated by the FAA.

Meanwhile, Dolan’s loved ones, such as the previous CEO of Catholic Charities, Tim Marx, are honoring the late executive in remembrance.

“[The news] just really hit me hard,” Marx told CBS News. “It was a real sad shock.”

During a span of five years while serving on the board of directors at Catholic Charities Twin Cities, Marx collaborated closely with Dolan. Over time, it’s been remembered that Dolan frequently discussed his enthusiasm for aviation and his aircraft, which was nearly equaled by his ardor for assisting others.

He proved an exceptional match, being both eager and generous in sharing knowledge and contributions to our organization, a pattern echoed in his work within the wider community. His kindness, depth of character, and incredible ingenuity were further highlighted.

A jet operated by American Airlines’ subsidiary, American Eagle, was preparing to land at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport around 9 p.m. Eastern Time, when it suffered a fatal collision with an Army Black Hawk helicopter. Regrettably, all passengers and crew on both vehicles perished in the incident.

The aircraft had a total of four crew personnel and 60 travelers on board, among whom were several athletes who had just concluded a national ice-skating training event in Wichita, Kansas.

President Donald Trump called it a “dark and excruciating night in our nation’s capital.”

According to the National Transportation Safety Board and air traffic control, a helicopter carrying three military personnel was flying at an unusual height of 300 feet, which exceeded the standard ceiling of 200 feet near that particular airport. Meanwhile, FlightAware’s aircraft tracking data showed that the jet’s last recorded altitude was 375 feet.

The crash remains under investigation.

Jennifer Homendy, NTSB Chair, stated on January 30th that they will examine three key aspects: people, machines, and surroundings. This includes investigating all individuals involved in the accident, studying the aircraft and helicopter, as well as assessing the operational environment. This approach is standard for their investigations.

Since the tragic Colgan Flight 3407 accident in 2009 where it crashed into a house near Buffalo, New York, taking the lives of all 50 people on board and one person on the ground, this was the first major commercial airline disaster to occur on American soil.

Approximately 6 p.m. ET, a Learjet 55 belonging to the Jet Rescue Air Ambulance service encountered an accident on a street in northeastern Philadelphia.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of all six individuals on the plane: a child who had recently overcome a critical illness, her mother, a physician, a paramedic, and two pilots, as well as a 37-year-old man who happened to be driving when it occurred.

The accident happened barely a minute into the flight, which had taken off at 6:06 p.m., as per FlightAware. The plane was bound for Branson, Missouri, before returning the mother and patient back home to Mexico.

Shai Gold, a representative from Jet Rescue, stated that she put up a tremendous effort to stay alive, but sadly, an unfortunate incident occurred during her journey home.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is still investigating the cause of the crash. According to a report published by NBC Philadelphia on March 6th, it appears that the cockpit voice recorder, often called the “black box,” didn’t record any flight audio during the incident and may have been inoperable for quite some time prior.

Initially, nine travelers were en route from Unalakleet, Alaska, to Nome, approximately 140 miles distant. Around forty minutes into their journey, the small plane they were traveling in, a Bering Air Cessna Caravan, experienced an unfortunate accident and crashed.

On February 7, three bodies were found amidst debris located about 34 miles southeast of Nome, as stated by the U.S. Coast Guard. At that time, they speculated that the remaining seven individuals, including the pilot, were likely still inside the damaged aircraft, which was in a state that made access impossible due to the plane’s condition.

Senator Lisa Murkowski described Alaska as feeling like a close-knit community, stating, “Whenever hardship visits us, it seldom feels distant from those affected Alaskan residents. Yet, this proximity also fosters a sense of unity in our mourning and healing process.

The NTSB said it would be investigating the crash.

In simpler terms, an unfortunate incident occurred where one person died when Vince Neil’s Learjet 35A, which is associated with Mötley Crüe, crashed into a stationary Gulfstream G-200 at Arizona’s Scottsdale Airport. The accident happened during landing, as stated by attorney Worrick Robinson IV from Nashville.

Neil was not onboard at the time.

The attorney described the case as a quickly changing scenario that’s still being investigated, expressing that Mr. Neil extends his sympathies and well-wishes to those affected, and appreciates the valuable assistance provided by all emergency responders on duty at this time.

Initially, there were four individuals onboard the Learjet. Later on, it was verified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that the pilot unfortunately perished, whereas the co-pilot and one of the passengers sustained severe injuries.

According to WMTV 15 News, a preliminary report published on March 3 by the NTSB suggests that both surveillance and cell phone videos of the incident indicate that the jet’s back left landing gear was positioned at an angle as it came close to the runway in Scottsdale.

Additionally, the report highlighted a previous incident involving the same flight team, which occurred during their landing in McAlester, Oklahoma, on June 20, 2024.

The report revealed that a mechanic carried out routine maintenance and extra work on the aircraft in December. Another mechanic working on the landing gear mentioned there were no oddities, but he observed that the left landing gear used an unusually large amount of lubricant.

Aircraft Delta Flight 4819, departing from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, made an emergency landing in an inverted position at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The plane subsequently caught fire as it was carrying approximately 80 passengers.

According to Deborah Flint, the President and CEO of Toronto Pearson, everyone made it through safely, and 21 individuals required treatment for minor injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

In an instant, I found myself lying horizontally, recalled Pete Koukov on TODAY Feb 18th. I was gazing downwards when suddenly I saw sparks and flames, along with whatever was scraping the ground. The incident unfolded extremely rapidly, and we found ourselves hanging from our seat belts, upside-down.

In the end, he noted, “Everyone disembarked in an organized manner. It wasn’t chaotic after the plane came to a halt, as most people understood, given that there weren’t any severe injuries, they were generally fine.

According to Flint, the event transpired under clear skies, and the Canadian Transportation Safety Board is currently probing the matter.

Around 8:30 a.m. Mountain Time, two light, one-engine aircraft – a Lancair 360 MK II and a Cessna 172S – had an unfortunate mid-air collision at the Marana Regional Airport, located close to Tucson, Arizona.

In simpler terms, the Cessna plane safely touched down, but the Lancair aircraft crashed close to runway 3, causing an accidental fire afterwards. Tragically, this incident resulted in the loss of at least two lives, according to the National Transportation Safety Board’s announcement.

As reported by the FAA, each aircraft had two individuals on board. The male and female passengers in the Lancair, unfortunately, were later recognized as the ones who passed away.

As a devoted admirer of our beloved Marana Regional Airport, I wholeheartedly express my deepest sympathies to every individual and family affected by this unfortunate incident. In a statement, our esteemed Superintendent Galen Beem articulated this sentiment on behalf of the Town of Marana. This is an extraordinary occurrence that has left us all in a state of awe, yet we are incredibly thankful for the prompt action taken by the valiant Marana Police Department and Northwest Fire District.

On its journey from Newark to Indianapolis, the FedEx Flight 3609 encountered a bird shortly after takeoff, necessitating an urgent landing as a result.

As a die-hard aviation enthusiast, I’d like to share some fascinating insights I picked up: Legendary expert John Cox disclosed to NBC News that marvels of engineering like the Boeing 767 are designed to keep flying even if one engine malfunctions! Isn’t it amazing how these machines are built for resilience?

Essentially, Cox explained, this situation is similar to a regular engine malfunction in any vehicle. This means the plane can only use one engine now. There are established protocols for such cases, and pilots have been trained to handle them. Consequently, a secure landing will be achieved.
