Ubisoft Cancels Tokyo Game Show Stream Due to “Various Circumstances”

As a seasoned Assassin’s Creed fan with countless hours spent navigating the cobblestone streets of medieval cities and dashing through the towering architecture of modern metropolises, I must admit that this year’s Tokyo Game Show news has left me feeling somewhat crestfallen. The absence of Ubisoft from the official broadcast leaves a void in my anticipation for hands-on footage of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Alas, it seems we must temper our expectations and wait patiently for any potential post-show gameplay.

Starting from the 26th of September, the Tokyo Game Show will commence, featuring multiple gaming companies such as Square Enix, Konami, Bandai Namco, and Microsoft presenting numerous live streams and announcements. However, it’s regrettable to mention that Ubisoft won’t be broadcasting an online stream during this event.

On Twitter (through Genki’s translation), it was disclosed that due to several reasons, they will not be part of the official live broadcast for Tokyo Game Show 2024. Unfortunately, specific details weren’t given, which implies no gameplay demonstrations for titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows at this time. However, Ubisoft Japan is still an exhibitor at the event, so there may be a chance to see hands-on footage or post-show gameplay, but it might not meet expectations.

The video game titled “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” will be available starting November 12th on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. Gold and Ultimate Edition owners will get early access to the game three days prior. Ubisoft recently published a trailer highlighting the stunning destinations players can explore in the game – you can watch it here.

It turns out that while seasons may not disrupt the overall gameplay experience, they’ll cause slight variations in character movements. Learn more on this topic here.
