As a long-time Marvel fan and avid reader of the Black Panther comics, I am beyond excited for the new direction of the Ultimate Universe’s take on this iconic character. In the latest issue of Ultimate Black Panther #6, the tension between T’Challa as Black Panther and Moon Knight has reached a boiling point, and it’s clear that an all-out war is imminent.
Tensions between Black Panther and Moon Knight have reached a boiling point in Marvel’s revamped Ultimate Universe, leading to an imminent full-scale conflict. In the new “Ultimate Black Panther” series, T’Challa remains as Wakanda’s monarch but is now wedded to Okoye. Meanwhile, Erik Killmonger and Storm take on freedom fighter roles, while Moon Knight comprises of Ra and Khonshu who belong to The Maker’s malevolent council shaping the Ultimate Universe. With Moon Knight making provocative moves against Wakanda, it is high time for Black Panther to respond in kind.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on issue #6 of “Ultimate Black Panther,” crafted by the talented team of Bryan Hill, Carlos Nieto, David Curiel, and VC’s Cory Petit. In this captivating installment, Moon Knight takes center stage. Ra and Khonshu, the gods they serve, are employing a perplexing green ore to bestow them with divine abilities. They are winning over the locals by healing the sick and manipulating the Earth. The goal? To amass a devoted following prepared to lay down their lives in Moon Knight’s quest to bring down Wakanda.
An encounter occurs between Moon Knight and Black Panther as the former is thwarted in his terrorist plans. This meeting results in a direct confrontation between the two characters. The battle ends inconclusively, leaving Moon Knight to depart, vowing, “I guess that means we’ll go to war then.” A significant aspect of their fight revolves around the green ore, which opposes Vibranium and will be a contentious point for both parties.
Black Panther forms a super team to take down Moon Knight
In issue #4 of “Ultimate Black Panther“, King T’Challa disappears following an assault planned by Ra and Khonshu, the Ultimate Universe equivalents of Moon Knight. Black Panther was saved by rebels Killmonger and Storm. T’Challa’s absence lasted for several weeks, leaving Queen Okoye with no choice but to conceal the truth from her people and maintain a facade of normalcy.
After an attempt on Okoye’s life by an assassin while she slept, Black Panther (T’Challa) came back to protect her. With the help of his sister Shuri, they uncovered the identity of the assassin – a former Dora Milaje. Due to the presence of spies within Wakanda, T’Challa warned Okoye that trust must be rebuilt among their circle. He sent Okoye to the Temple of the Sacred Dead with strict instructions to confide in and trust only those standing next to him upon her return.
In the Temple of the Sacred Dead, Okoye entered and discovered Black Panther, Shuri, Erik Killmonger, and Storm present. The quintet of them combined is the only barrier preventing Ra and Khonshu from causing Wakanda’s downfall.
