Ultimate Spider-Man Just Delivered a Heartwarming Reunion (And It’s About Time)

In the popular series, Ultimate Spider-Man, many heartfelt scenes have occurred so far. However, the sneak peek of this week’s episode adds yet another emotional instance to the list. Despite Peter Parker being in the initial phase of his web-slinging journey, he has already gained a faithful companion in Harry Osborn, who is also known as the Green Goblin. Spider-Man and Green Goblin have been collaborating against Wilson Fisk and his Sinister Six, but their partnership faces a significant challenge when Harry is seemingly killed by Kraven the Hunter. However, it turns out that Harry is not actually deceased; instead, he’s alive thanks to his wife, Gwen Stacy, who is also known as Mysterio. With Peter and his family in hiding, they are now reuniting once more.

In the upcoming issue #18 of Ultimate Spider-Man, published by Marvel and penned by Jonathan Hickman, Marco Checchetto, Erick Arciniega, and VC’s Cory Petit, we find Peter Parker, having escaped Kraven the Hunter, seeking refuge in the desert with his family. Despite their remote location, Uncle Ben keeps Peter updated on the happenings in New York City. Consequently, Peter is aware that Harry Osborn is still alive even before Harry arrives by plane in the desert. The trio of Peter, Mary Jane, and their daughter May are waiting at an airstrip as Harry’s plane approaches, and Peter inquires about Mary Jane’s thoughts on their strategy. As expected, Mary Jane comforts Peter, remarking, “…this is what you do.” Moreover, it appears that Harry has devised a scheme to bring an end to their constant evasion.

In a playful manner, Harry hints that Peter appears unfazed by his absence and seems to have only minor feelings for him. Yet, Peter responds warmly with a large hug and grin. Mary Jane shares that Peter went without food for an entire week following what seemed like his demise, which comforts Harry. Curious about possible help for the upcoming events, Mary Jane inquires if Harry has brought any babysitters along, to which he replies affirmatively. The sneak peek of Ultimate Spider-Man #18 concludes without revealing who these babysitters might be, but I suspect it could be Uncle Ben and J. Jonah Jameson.

In the 18th issue of Ultimate Spider-Man, it’s stated that conflict persists within New York City. The Black Cat seeks the help of Richard Parker amidst the Sinister Six’s territorial dispute… and an unexpected ally emerges for Spider-Man!
