Ultimate Wolverine Reveals Deep, Mysterious Bond with Kitty Pryde!

In the third issue of “Ultimate Wolverine,” we witness another thrilling adventure as Wolverine is tasked with tracking down characters he’s encountered before. Marvel hinted at significant mutant appearances in “Ultimate Wolverine,” and this installment certainly delivered. We are introduced to three new characters, each sharing a notable past with Wolverine from the main universe. These include his X-Men teammate Gambit, whose relationship with Wolverine has evolved from conflict to camaraderie over time; the Ultimate version of Black Widow, who has known Wolverine since her childhood; and Ultimate Kitty Pryde, a crucial figure in Wolverine’s X-Men history.

For years, devotees of these iconic characters have recognized their profound connection. Wolverine often nurtures young mutants, and Kitty Pryde was among the first he mentored. Their attachment surpasses any other, hinted in Ultimate Wolverine #3 to be a unique relationship, potentially varying significantly from what they share in the main 616 universe.

Wolverine and Kitty Pryde Are One of the X-Men’s Greatest Duos

In the world of comics, Kitty Pryde made her debut in issue #129 of “Uncanny X-Men.” This particular comic holds significant importance in the annals of the X-Men series. Not only was it the first glimpse of Kitty, but it also marked the start of “The Dark Phoenix Saga,” a tale that introduced readers to the enigmatic Hellfire Club and its inner circle. This event is a pivotal moment in the comic’s history, with Kitty taking a supporting role throughout most of “The Dark Phoenix Saga.” However, following this storyline, Kitty began to receive more attention. Every X-Men enthusiast recalls the cover of issue #139, which posed the question that would become a recurring theme in X-Men comics: “Welcome to the X-Men, Kitty Pryde, hope you survive the experience.” She would later play crucial roles in stories like “Days of Future Past,” where a future version of Kitty Pryde would warn the team about an impending doom, and “Demon,” where she bravely fought a N’Garai demon on Christmas Eve while the rest of the X-Men were celebrating.

Upon joining this dynamic group, I found myself taking a special interest in a young mutant, seeing potential in her combat skills. That’s how our journey began, leading to the iconic four-issue miniseries, “Kitty Pryde and Wolverine.” In this series, my ninjitsu master Ogun took Kitty under his wing, teaching her the art of fighting, all while attempting to control her body as a means to eliminate me. Over time, I grew protective towards her, much like an older brother would.

She saw beyond my rough exterior to the compassionate soul within, and we developed a unique bond that truly defines the X-Men family. I watched Kitty evolve from a young girl into a woman, shaping her into the remarkable person she is today. My respect for her runs deep, reaching levels reserved for only a select few individuals. Together, we’ve faced countless challenges and emerged stronger, making us an unbeatable team that no one would ever wish to encounter in a dark alley. Sharing the same mentor and fighting together for years, we make the perfect pair.

Ultimate Wolverine and Kitty Pryde Have a Mysterious Relationship

From the instant Ultimate Kitty Pryde makes an appearance in Ultimate Wolverine #3, readers anticipated a memorable encounter between Kitty and Wolverine. The encounter lives up to expectations, as Wolverine storms into the facility where Gambit, Kitty, and Black Widow are carrying out their covert mission. He flees in a large truck, which Wolverine manages to chase down and force his way into the back of. Upon entering, he encounters Kitty standing guard over a group of children. She recalls him, and loudly questions why he doesn’t seem to remember her. She reaches into his mind, resurfacing repressed memories.

Intriguing hints suggest a possible deeper bond between Wolverine and Kitty, as they’re shown in what appears to be an affectionate embrace. Could the Ultimate Universe version of Logan and Kitty Pryde have shared a more intimate relationship than their 616 counterparts? The scenario is plausible, although it remains to be seen how this storyline unfolds further. Interestingly, Kitty’s power to phase through objects might be responsible for triggering memories in Wolverine. By the end of the issue, we find Wolverine standing amidst snow, with his memories slowly returning. This significant moment between these characters could mark an intriguing chapter in their history.
