In April 2025 for Superman Day, McFarlane Toys introduced a range of DC Multiverse action figures based on James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, due in theaters July 11th. It appears that another wave will be released on May 28th. As of now, a Deluxe Theatrical Edition Lex Luthor is confirmed to be part of the drop, with more figures expected to join the collection. Here’s what we know so far…
In April, the action figures of Lex Luthor, Mr. Terrific, and Robot #4 were revealed, with a tentative release date in June. Given that Lex Luthor’s figure is coming earlier, there’s speculation that the other figures might follow suit on May 28th. Additionally, it seems imminent that McFarlane will introduce a figure featuring the enigmatic main antagonist from the movie, based on confirmed leaks. (A SPOILER alert…), we may even get an Ultraman figure. There’s also a possibility of more Super Powers figures being released, similar to Wave 1.

Under the guidance of director Gunn, the movie titled Superman features David Corenswet in the lead role as Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan portraying Lois Lane, a daring reporter. Nicholas Hoult takes on the role of Lex Luthor, Superman’s longtime adversary. This film marks the beginning of a fresh take on the DC Universe and introduces additional characters such as Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner Green Lantern, Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan), and Maria Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/the Engineer from The Authority.
