After the scrapping of Naughty Dog’s standalone multiplayer spinoff for “The Last of Us”, Neil Druckmann, from Naughty Dog, shared that they had multiple big, innovative single-player games in progress. Interestingly, one of these new projects was showcased at The Game Awards 2024 as “Intergalactic”, a fresh sci-fi concept.
It appears that other standalone projects have been in progression, but as per insider DanielRPK on Patreon, one such project was recently scrapped. Led by Vinit Agarwal, who had previously held a directorial position for the online title, the project is said to have been under development for over a year and remained in its early stages. Afterward, Agarwal departed from Naughty Dog.
Meanwhile, there’s another solo game reportedly under development for approximately three years, spearheaded by Shaun Escayg, well-known from Marvel’s Avengers. At this point, specifics about the project remain undisclosed, though it might potentially be the remake of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune that was speculated last year.
Currently, the game “Intergalactic” is set to arrive on PS5, but there’s no specific date announced yet. On the other hand, regarding “The Last of Us”, Druckmann mentioned in March that the second installment might mark the conclusion of its storyline. For further information, check it out here.
