The upcoming show titled “Daredevil: Reborn” will focus on the character of Daredevil, who has had brief appearances in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, 2022’s “She-Hulk: Lawyer” and 2024’s “Echo”. This series is a continuation from the Netflix series “Daredevil”, which ran for three seasons between 2015 and 2018 and has since moved to Disney+. The first season of “Daredevil: Reborn” consists of nine episodes and will debut on Disney+ on March 4th, with a second season already confirmed. This series is expected to maintain a dark and ominous tone similar to its predecessor, serving as a reboot for the main character’s screen adventures.
In the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again,” we have a host of fresh and recurring characters set to make an appearance. While it’s still uncertain if well-known Marvel Cinematic Universe characters might make surprise appearances, no official announcements have been made in that regard yet. However, what we know for sure is that these specific characters will be officially part of “Daredevil: Born Again.
Matt Murdock/Daredevil
The character Matt Murdock, portrayed by Charlie Cox and also known as Daredevil, has seen a surge in popularity since his first appearance on Netflix in 2015. In the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again,” the main hero’s complex life will take a darker turn as he confronts familiar adversaries. Fans of Marvel have long anticipated Daredevil’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in a more prominent role, and it will be intriguing to see how his story unfolds in “Daredevil: Born Again.” Since he has only played a supporting role in the main MCU so far, we are eager to discover what the future holds for his character arc. Furthermore, it’s equally captivating to speculate whether Daredevil’s new Disney+ series might pave the way for him to join larger-scale projects like “Avengers: Doomsday” and/or “Avengers: Secret Wars.
Wilson Fisk/Kingpin
In the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again”, the main antagonist from the Netflix’s “Daredevil” show, Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, will reappear to challenge Matt once more. Unlike Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin has had a significant presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He played major roles in 2022’s “Hawkeye” and “Echo”, which have set him up nicely for his role in “Daredevil: Born Again”. After seemingly being killed by Maya Lopez, a.k.a. Echo (Alaqua Cox), in “Hawkeye”, Kingpin’s return in “Echo” hinted that he aims to regain power in New York City. In an unexpected twist, Kingpin has announced his intention to run for mayor. This compelling setup for “Daredevil: Born Again” promises that Kingpin will return as the formidable adversary he was in the Netflix series, and fans can anticipate the exciting confrontation between Daredevil and Kingpin in the MCU for the first time.
Frank Castle/The Punisher
Jon Bernthal’s character, Frank Castle (also known as The Punisher), enjoys a devoted following among Marvel enthusiasts. He starred in his own Netflix series and appeared in Daredevil Season 2, and now, he’s set to appear in Daredevil: Born Again within the MCU. Although the specifics of The Punisher’s role in the upcoming show are still under wraps, it’s likely that Daredevil: Born Again will combine elements from Marvel comics with the characters’ on-screen histories. Frank’s complex past, marked by violence and eventual redemption, makes him an intriguing anti-hero who complements Daredevil perfectly. Bringing The Punisher into the MCU through Daredevil: Born Again appears to be a shrewd decision, and fans are eagerly awaiting the possibility of a future solo project for this character.
Karen Page
Deborah Ann Woll’s character, Karen Page, is set to reappear in Daredevil: Born Again, having starred in every season of the initial series. Initially working as a manager at the law firm Nelson and Murdock, Karen later ventured into journalism. Her romantic involvement with Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, ended amicably, leaving them friends. Given her close bond with Matt, alongside Foggy Nelson, it was crucial to include Karen in Daredevil: Born Again. Although the specifics of Karen’s role in the series remain undisclosed, fans can look forward to her and Foggy standing by Matt when he requires assistance.
Foggy Nelson
In the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again,” Elden Henson is set to return as Foggy Nelson, a character who shares a deep bond with the show’s protagonist, Matt. Unlike Matt, who has superhuman abilities, Foggy doesn’t possess any extraordinary powers. However, he plays a crucial role in the legal aspects and offers unwavering support to Matt. Foggy and Karen worked together in Daredevil to take down the Kingpin, and they are expected to join forces again in Born Again, aiming to help Matt overcome him once more.
Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye
In the third season of “Daredevil”, actor Wilson Bethel played the character Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, who was later known as Bullseye. A former U.S. Army veteran and FBI agent, Dex worked for Kingpin to pretending to be Daredevil, aiming to harm the reputation of the masked vigilante. However, he committed a series of murders before ultimately betraying Kingpin. In an epic showdown at the Presidential Hotel against both Daredevil and Kingpin, Dex was left paralyzed. Subsequently, he underwent an extraordinary operation using exotic metals to heal his damaged spine, leading to his transformation into Bullseye in the final season of “Daredevil”. The intriguing ending for Dex sets up his highly anticipated entrance in “Daredevil: Born Again”. The possibility of a redemption storyline for Dex as he adapts to his new identity is captivating. Additionally, it’s expected that he will seek revenge against Kingpin, as this unfinished business from his previous screen appearance remains a significant factor.
Vanessa Fisk
In a surprising turn of events, Ayelet Zurer is set to replay her character Vanessa Fisk, who was initially speculated to be recast. Known for her appearances in Seasons 1 and 3 of Daredevil, Vanessa will once more stand by Kingpin’s side as he regains influence. Despite Kingpin’s criminal activities and legal woes, Vanessa has remained steadfastly loyal. We can only wonder about the impact she might have on Kingpin’s life moving forward in Daredevil: Born Again.
Hector Alaya/White Tiger
In the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again,” the late Kamar de los Reyes is set to transition Hector Alaya’s character, also known as the White Tiger, from comic book panels to the screen. This masked vigilante, similar to Daredevil, gains his extraordinary abilities and swiftness from a magical amulet. In the source material, the White Tiger is an ally of Daredevil, so it’s plausible that the series might choose to maintain this dynamic with the character.
Daniel Blade
In a new turn of events, Michael Gandolfini, who played a role in “The Many Saints of Newark,” will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Daniel Blade. Given that Daniel is connected to Kingpin, it’s likely we’ll see some tension between him and Daredevil and his associates.
Heather Glenn
In the upcoming role, Margarita Levieva from “Star Wars: The Acolyte” is set to play Matt’s latest love interest, Heather Glenn. Given that Matt had romantic entanglements with various characters in the original Daredevil series on Netflix, it will certainly be captivating to uncover Heather’s backstory and see how she intertwines with Matt’s character.
Buck Cashman/Bullet
In the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again,” actor Arty Froushan will portray the character known as Bullet (Buck Cashman), who possesses extraordinary speed abilities. The specifics of his role in the show are yet to be revealed, but in the comics, Buck serves as a government mercenary for both the U.S. and the Kingpin.
Beginning March 4th, the series “Daredevil: Born Again” will be streaming on Disney+. All seasons of Daredevil are already available for streaming on this platform as well. Other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) releases include “Spider-Man: Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” on January 29th, “Captain America: Brave New World” on February 14th, “Thunderbolts” on May 2nd, “Ironheart” on June 24th, “Fantastic Four: First Steps” on July 25th, “Wakanda’s Eyes” on August 6th, and “Marvel Zombies” on October 3rd.
