As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but draw parallels between the climax of Poker Face season 2, episode 7 and the iconic film Heat. The similarities are striking, from the haunting musical score that echoes through both, to the identical closing title credits. Yet, unlike Robert De Niro’s character, Neil McCauley, who meets his end in a hail of bullets at the close of the movie, Kendall manages to dodge that bullet – albeit temporarily. Instead, he finds himself in the cold, unforgiving hands of the law and faces a future that promises nothing but decades behind bars.

In contrast to other episodes, Poker Face season 2, episode 7 stands out by blending not just one familiar film genre, the action-heist, but also incorporating romantic comedy elements throughout the first half of the episode.
