A captivating, Argentine genderqueer production with political humor and a touch of crime comedy, titled “Underground Orange (Bajo Naranja)”, launches its 9-city North American tour on theatrical stages, starting from June 5th, featuring an impressive cast.
Sexually provocative, politically impactful, and visually captivating, American-Argentinian filmmaker Michael Taylor Jackson’s critically acclaimed film Underground Orange (Bajo Naranja) begins its multi-city North American cinema tour on June 5th in Toronto, Canada. Subsequent stops include New York City, Philadelphia, Austin, New Orleans, Portland, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, respectively.
At certain unique screenings during the tour, there will be post-movie drag cabaret performances featuring Q&A sessions led by famous filmmakers such as Bruce LaBruce, Todd Verow, Darren Stein, and Godfrey Reggio, in discussion with the film’s director, writer, and star, Michael Taylor Jackson.
In “Underground Orange,” actor Michael Taylor Jackson portrays a Californian hiker who unintentionally gets involved in a romantic triangle with a group of young performers, one of whom plans to abduct the American Ambassador to Argentina. This unique film, described as genre-flexible, delves into conflicts in politics, self-expression, and LGBTQ+ experiences, by seamlessly combining various tones, merging genre elements, and incorporating a dash of everyday whimsy with a touch of wit and playfulness that is distinctively its own.
In this movie, it’s Michael Taylor Jackson who takes on the roles of director, writer, and lead actor. James Lefkowitz, Joel Pincosy, Florencia Franco, Jimena Monteoliva, and Manuela Alewaerts are the producers, while Godfrey Reggio serves as the executive producer.
The film titled “Underground Orange” was theatrically distributed by RBL Films and PR, in collaboration with the Argentine International Film Fund (INCAA). The global distribution rights for this movie belong to FeelSales.
