Unforgotten Season 6: The Shocking Moment That Changed Everything!

In its latest season, Unforgotten remains a captivating crime drama on ITV, featuring fresh plotlines, new actors, and intricate connections among characters that keep viewers guessing.

In 2015, the latest season of Unforgotten debuted, not only introducing a fresh mystery but also marking a significant shift for main characters DCI Jessica James (played by Sinéad Keenan) and DI Sunny Khan (portrayed by Sanjeev Bhaskar).

Since its debut, Sunny has been at the forefront and has garnered a loyal fanbase. However, the most recent season portrayed the much-loved detective grappling with the sorrow following the demise of his longtime partner Cassie (played by Nicola Walker).

Upon her leaving, it was Jess (Keenan) who subsequently arrived at the police station, though he didn’t receive a warm reception right away.

As I sat through the final episodes of the fifth season, it was a heart-wrenching experience to witness Sunny and Jess confronting and sharing their deepest struggles from their respective pasts. It was truly moving to see them open up to one another, revealing the emotional burdens they had been carrying for so long.

It appears that the upcoming season 6 will offer more opportunities for dialogue between these characters, as suggested by the actors themselves.

Trust has developed in their professional bond, Jess no longer views Sunny as a potential rival or hazard to his workstyle and practices. On a personal level, they’re not particularly acquainted yet. As is customary with colleagues, they maintain some distance.

Despite exchanging brief glimpses into their private lives, it’s likely that season 6 will delve deeper into the consequences of their respective choices. Indeed, Sunny and Sal ended their relationship when they recognized that their desires didn’t align, and Jess is now grappling with her husband Steve’s (Andrew Lancel) emotional infidelity.

Of course, as she stepped into the leading part, there was much anticipation surrounding Keenan’s debut in the show too. The response to her character was a welcome respite for the actress.

At first, it doesn’t appear that she was particularly well-liked, and honestly, I can understand why not.

“I think the response went down well and I’m just delighted to come in for another go.”

In the latest installment of Unforgotten, detectives Jess and Sunny delve into an intriguing mystery when human bones found at Whitney Marsh are suspected. Although they’re accustomed to probing cold cases, it’s revealed that these remains aren’t ancient but rather quite recent, with the body having been deliberately deposited on the marsh in a dismembered state.

For the series, we have an impressive lineup of actors: MyAnna Buring known from “The Witcher”, Elham Ehsas who starred in “Shantaram”, Victoria Hamilton familiar from “COBRA”, newcomer Max Fairley, as well as Jan Francis, recognized for her role in “Just Good Friends”, and Damien Molony, a notable figure in “Brassic”.
