Unknown 9 Labelled a ‘Failure’ as Dev Cancels Project, Moves to ‘Existing Bandai Namco IP’

Launched in October of the previous year, the game “Unknown 9: Awakening” had a tough time gaining traction, leading the developer, Reflector Entertainment, to ultimately cancel another project and let go of additional team members due to lackluster sales.

According to a post by CEO Herve Hoerdt on LinkedIn, he has announced that he won’t proceed with the development of a project that was still in the planning stage.

Hoerdt further explained: “Unfortunately, it’s not feasible to carry on with this project in the long run for our studio’s future. As a consequence, we’ll have to let some positions go after making this decision.

The statement subsequently brands Unknown 9 as a “disappointment,” with Hoerdt acknowledging that the game fell significantly short of the company’s targets.

It’s worth noting that the team has been tasked with a fresh project tied to a well-known intellectual property owned by Bandai Namco. Notably, they are the publishers of the game known as “Unknown 9”.

Have you ever pondered if Reflector Entertainment and Bandai Namco struck gold with Unknown 9: Awakening? What could this “ongoing Bandai Namco franchise” possibly be? Feel free to speculate and start a buzz in the comment section down below!
